Warm, soft and my most comfortable Carhartt coat yet!
I LOVE this coat. The fabric is soft, not stiff and it is my go to coat when I am out with the dog or horses. I have only been out in it down to the mid 20s but at that temp, it is still very warm and cozy.

Great coat
I bought this a little bigger to fit over my coveralls but this was also intended to be a "nice" coat as well, this fits true to the size and is very comfortable and warm. Love the appearance and that's what caught my eye.

Wife loves it
Wife is in love with this coat. She had me order 1 size up so that she could layer Under it if needed on very cold days. (Midwest temps offer hit 0 and below temps at points over the winter). But she says the coat is plenty warm. And probably didn’t need to size up as she pry won’t have to use any other layers with it. As always the carhartt quality and durability are phenomenal.

Love it
Love this coat. I am excited to get into the amazing warmth of a Carhartt coat but with a little style to it. The sizing chart had me at a medium but it was huge, I sent it back to get a small and it was perfect. I am 5’6” at 134lbs.

Great coat!
Love it! Not too heavy, but plenty warm. I had really wanted something without a hood on it and with sleeves big enough to layer under it when I’m working out on our land. Exactly the quality I’d expect from anything Carhartt

Great Chilly/Mild Weather Coat
I bought this coat for late fall and early spring field work. It is very durable and functional while still being flattering. It is a little thicker than I expected, but I have worn it out for work in 40 degree weather a couple times already and it has been exactly what I needed. I think it would still be fine in 30 degree weather, but anything colder, I would probably prefer the Active Jac.
I'm 5'1", 135lb, 32D and the small fits great in the torso. The arms, especially the forearms are a little too roomy, but not enough to consider changing sizes.

I haven’t worn it yet so I can’t rate warmth but it seems well made and heavy enough. The size chart said that I should wear and XS. I ordered a Small and there is plenty of room for me to wear a lot of layers comfortably

WHEN WASHING THE COAT DOES THE MATERIAL SHRINK?
RENEE T on Aug 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No
Will this coat hold up in -40°C Canadian winters?
A shopper on Mar 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Here in Maine, I still need a sweatshirt under it on super cold days. No wind gets through it though. I ordered a size up so I could layer it. I'm tall, and the coat doesn't quite fit like in the picture. I wish it was a little longer. The collar is nice though, when it's buttoned up fully, it covers half my face and keeps my neck warm.
What is the hip measurement for the small vs the medium?
Devon L on Mar 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Waist on the small is 41 inches and the medium is 43 inches.
Is this jacket waterproof?
A shopper on Jan 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This style is not considered waterproof.
Will this ever come in petite sizes?
A shopper on Jan 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We'll be glad to pass your interest along to Product Design.
Can you wash?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes - the care instructions are machine wash cold like colors. Use Non-chlorine bleach (if needed). Tumble dry low. Cool iron.
Is the lining supposed to be flannel, as advertised in the description? The jacket I received has a quilted, snaggy-textured polyester-type lining. Thanks!
A shopper on Nov 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The lining is a quilted flannel lining. Flannel can be made from different fabrics. In this case, the flannel is synthetic and it is a brushed tricot (100% polyester) material.
Will this jacket have more colors available soon?
A shopper on Nov 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We have Black and Heritage Blue that came out this season. We may have different colors next season.
Does the weathered duck wesley coat come in olive?
Gillian K on Nov 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We apologize, this style is not offered in Olive.
How warm is it?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The length is perfect for windy conditions, just be sure you have on a long shirt or it is tucked in. ;) I am going to be wearing it in Alaska with layers and I feel comfortable that I will be really warm. It is heavy and very substantial & all the pockets are amazing
Will the blue be restocked in extra small?
G E on Nov 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We are expected to receive stock by the end of the month.
How does the Wesley coat compare to Active Jac and Sierra for sub-zero weather?
jaccch on Nov 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Wesley would be about the same warmth as the WJ141. The WJ140 is considered warmer than those two as it has quilted flannel lining.
What is the length of the coat?
A shopper on Oct 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Each size will be a different length.
Why does this coat not come with a hood if it has snaps under the collar? Can’t believe it.
A shopper on Oct 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This coat does not have under the collar snaps and does not accommodate a hood.
How heavy is the liner in this coat? Is it warmer than the Cryder or Cadwell?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have the Full Swing Cryder jacket in Olive and the Weathered Duck Wesley Coat in Black. I honestly think this jacket is warmer than the Cryder. The internal material is different- the Wesley has a softer cotton like interior. If a hood is important to you, the Cryder might be a better option.
Can you attach a hood to the newest Weathered Duck Wesley coat? (October 2018)
A shopper on Sep 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This style does not have snaps under the collar for an attachable hood.
Are the sleeves at the wrist elastic or open?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They are open.
When will the weathered duck Wesley coat be available in black?
A shopper on Feb 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We do not plan to offer it in black in the near future.
When will you restock the woodland in large?
Lisa J on Jan 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We currently show low stock of the Woodland color in Large. We do not plan to restock it once it is sold out.
I am 5’5’’ and about 160 lbs... I was thinking a large for me? Would that be best?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Our sizes are based on chest and waist measurements. You are welcome to use our Size & Fit Guide with your measurements. Feel free to contact us if we can be of further assistance.
When will you have the woodland color in small available?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We plan to restock it around the second week of March 2018.
The Woodland Green is out of stock in small. Will you restock in that or the Hudson's blue?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do have the Woodland Green back in stock, but will not get getting any more in Hudson Blue.
I’m thinking about buying the Wesley jacket for my wife but she’s a plus size woman would a 2xl work for her?
Shannon on Dec 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Our sizes are based on chest and waist measurements. 2XL is recommended for a 45½ inch chest and 40½ waist.
When do you plan to restock the Hudson blue in 2xl?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We apologize, we do not plan to restock Hudson Blue since it has been discontinued.
When do you plan on getting more XL’s in Woodland?
Erin N on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We plan to restock Woodland in XL around the beginning of December.
How come this coat is not in the Black Friday sale?
A shopper on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This coat is not part of our Full Swing line.
Can a hood be attached to this coat?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, it cannot.
When will you have the hudson blue color in a 2XLarge available?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We unfortunately will not be receiving any more in Hudson Blue.
Is the woodland color more of a hunter green or an olive?
amy o on Nov 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is closer to olive.
How is the fit through the shoulders? Is movement limited?
Megan S on Nov 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I found that the fit through the shoulders felt tight. Movement was restricted, unfortunately. According to my body size (5'4", 130lbs), Carhartt recommends a size Medium. I ordered a size L to be "safe", but was disappointed to find the movement was still restricted. Men's Carhartt often have gussets at the back of the shoulders to allow freedom of movement, but I only saw one women's coat described as having that, their "Full Swing" coat. I needed the extra length that the Weathered Duck Wesley Coat offered, however. (Life in North Dakota winters can be chilly!)
