Women's midweight canvas work pants with a straight leg, mid rise and original fit.

Rugged doesn't have to mean rigid. These women's work pants are built to last, with a midweight canvas construction that gives you the stretch and flex you need on the job. They have an original fit, the roomiest we offer, plus a straight-leg opening and mid-rise waist. Made with durable triple-stitched seams and all the pockets you'd expect on a pair of Carhartts.

How to Measure

Note: For best results measure over your undergarments. Use a cloth measuring tape.

Natural Waist:

Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Hip/Seat:

Measure the fullest point between your natural waist and crotch.

A midweight stretch cotton canvas.

  • Exterior: 8-ounce, 98% cotton / 2% spandex canvas
  • Care Instructions: Machine wash cold gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low remove promptly. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

These are not the same Carhartts. The quality has gone seriously down and the fit is awful. These are work pants. I don't need to be exposing myself every time I bend over. The pants only last for several washes.

Sizes are not consistent
My first two pants purchased in this style came from a brick and mortar store. I purchased them in a size six short. I loved them so I decided to purchase direct from carhartt. I ordered the exact same size and unfortunately they ended up being a size too small. If I purchase again in the future I learned that I will have to upsize. This is sad because the pants should have been the same size.

A bit big and boxy on my narrow frame.
I'm 5'6" and a lean 115 lbs. The small is huge on me. They are very boxy. They would be perfect for the right type of work because they are sturdy but for winemaking they are a bit loose and long and would get caught on things. Most of all, on my smaller frame, they are not very flattering. I'm sure they are what Carhartt intended but just not right for me. I ordered them because they were on sale but am used to things a bit more form fitting, even for work.

Ok hear me out….
Holy moly where to start? Would it be with the pockets that seem to appear out of thin air? There's 8 decently sized pockets! The fit is perfect for what I like, I'm rather short (4'11") so I cuff the legs and wear a belt, they have lots of thigh room and are incredibly comfy! (They sit just above my hips, and unlike most pants that sit there, they don't squeeze anything or pinch, even while sitting! The zipper is also short so when you sit it doesn't bunch up funny, iykyk). The legs are a lil too wide by the ankle for me and they might be for you too, but you can cuff them and bring them in, by folding one side of the leg to the middle before cuffing them, they'll be more snug around the ankle. The material looks tough and thick in the photos, but they are shockingly breathable and soft, while maintaining durability. I've been asked many times where I got them and can't recommend them more! Worth every penny, and shipping was 2 days early!
