Supporting the Trades with Metallica and the Thurman Thomas Foundation

As part of our For the Love of Labor grant program, we’re once again partnering with Metallica’s Foundation, All Within My Hands. This time, we’re donating $250,000 to bring the Metallica Scholars Initiative to SUNY Erie Community College to support workforce education in Erie County, New York. Together with Metallica, as well as the Thurman Thomas Family Foundation, we’re providing scholarships to students pursuing a career in the skilled trades.

Carhartt supports organizations, big and small, that are working to close the skilled trades gap in their communities. That’s why we started the For the Love of Labor Grant in 2022 to support the efforts of organizations dedicated to empowering the next generation of trades workers. All grant recipients receive funding towards their continued efforts to educate, train, and ultimately fill openings within their communities.
