Great Winter Buy
I purchased this for a durable warm winter jacket and it is very warm. I wear it by itself over a flannel shirt down into the 40's and high 30's. and Into the low 30's and 20's I wear it with another jacket. However still really warm by itself. Also it is almost totally windproof and great protection from light rain.

The fabric is more soft then traditional duck but still very durable. And the full swing features make movement super easy. The cuffs under the sleeve keep your arms warm and allow you to pull up your sleeves if reaching into water for instance which is a great feature.

Finally it is a great looking jacket and the removable hood gives you a hoodless option for events where you might want to look more dressy but still in Carhartt.

Also I am 6' 3' and only 175 and it fits me well. There is certainly room for a bigger guy but not so much that I loose insulation.

Only complaint it that the zipper is sometimes tricky to get started but It just takes a little bit of a twist. Once it is started it works great too.

Overall great jacket. I just bought another one for my Dad.

This is a great jacket for wet & cold Carolina winters. It is thicker then I expected, which is nice. & the rain just rolls off. It is the perfect jacket for me since I work outside everyday.

The only complaint I have is the sleeves. The over hang on the sleeves is just a little too long. Otherwise, a great jacket.

Amazing Jacket
Best jacket I own so far, hands down!!! Finally a jacket that I have full mobility in without it riding up or getting bunches up and being having to adjust with every movement. Also definitely keeps you warm, and as durable as all other Carhartt products. Highly recommend it

LOVE
My son LOVES it! Warm and light weight. He's 6"2' and a strongman competitor, with plenty of room to move freely. Can't comment on durability: he's only had it two weeks, and wearing daily.

IN FULL SWING
Great! Mostly by the cut as it has enough room to layer up over my chest but narrows at the bottom for coverage. I haven’t ridden our horse yet to know if it won’t ride up sitting in the saddle... hope not. Will get it embroidered with our company logo for ROTBLOC / @rotbloc_llc and post pics on Instagram when it’s done. We have a couple jackets for our employees getting done.

I’ve had a few sandstone 100% cotton canvas jackets over the years that seem to shrink after a while from washing and drying regularly. How does the Quick Duck fabric compare?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As long as you follow the care instructions, this jacket should not shrink more than 2-4% over the lifetime of the garment.
I understand that Carhartt does not do temp ratings and I see that this coat is 80 gram thinsulate. So my question is if you can answer it, I work as a freight conductor in Montana and looking for a durable coat that I can wear in temps ranging from 40 degrees to -40 degrees with wind chill. Would this be a good choice? I have no issue with layers in real cold conditions.
A shopper on Oct 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It wouldn't survive on its own in -40 temps, but with the proper layering of good under shirts it would work. I do construction outside in northern Michigan throughout winter and with the right clothes under it and layered I've never had a problem. That said, I do move around a lot as well. Hope this helps. It is a good jacket.
Is this jacket ever going to be offered in a 3XLT?
Shopper on Oct 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not in the near future, but we'll gladly share your interest with Product Design.
