Too small under the arms
It's too much of the "new" type slim fit, really snug under the arms - when you raise your arms pulls very tight across back & really tight under arms, had to return...

Fits well, looks great, the usual Carhartt quality
Medium tall fits my frame (6’ 2”, 170 lbs) the best and is difficult to find. While the size on this jacket says “medium,”it fits like a glove: not too bulky in the shoulders, the length sits right on my hips, and the sleeves are just right. If you like a loose-fitting jacket, you may find this size runs small. I like the tailored fit of this jacket, and the cinch straps around the waist allow me to snug it up to my liking. I can’t speak to the durability as I’ve only worn this a few times, but it is constructed well: no loose threads, tight stitching and no apparent shell flaws. Based on my experience with Carhartt work clothing, I expect this to be the last light jacket I’ll buy.

Sharp looking jacket
When received, jacket was lighter and thinner than expected. Sleeves are a bit long. I previously owned a Crowley jacket and the Crowley seemed like a better value. I'm still satisfied with my Rough Cut. The front and shoulder pockets are nice to have. I have had comments on how good looking the Rough Cut is. Overall very satisfied.

Moto Ready
I use this as a light shell for my motorcycle. It keeps the wind off as well as the rain. Just make sure you have a warm layer underneath and youll be fine. Great product!

Not perfect but still nice.
Nice jacket for spring/fall. It's not super warm, but it blocks the wind, and the water beads right off of it. I got a medium, I'm about 5'10" 180 pounds, and it could be a bit bigger, but I feel like if I had went up a size it would be too big. Its snug but I can still move in it. I would have given five stars but the zipper on one pocket fell of the first time I wore it, and the other one shortly after that.

BEST ANSWER: There are 2, one on each side. They are lower on the inside, not by the chest.
Does the outer material shed dog hair easily?
Dave B on Mar 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It does. Similar to a rain jacket material, so no problems shedding dog hair on the outside. The inside fleece is a different story though
I am looking for a jacket that has the same durable outer layer but isnt so warm and heavy. Do you have any suggestions?

Is this a soft shell outter material or more like a fleece?
A shopper on Jan 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is neither it is a water resistant material. Hard to describe, all I can say, is I love this jacket. Have used all winter...
We would like to see this jacket offered in a 3-1/5-1 jacket system, with the 3-1 being this jacket modified with zip off sleeves. . .for a vest conversion, with a rear collar zip-hide away, and a water/wind proof/lightweight attached hood w/o the bulk, which can be paired with a Carhartt men's force extreme beanie, for added warmth. . .make modifications to the front, with a slight V-cut taper, whereby the rear drop cut. . . still drops further down than the front. . .then adding a subdued Carhartt logo, would be most appropriate for this style of jacket, perhaps on the left sleeve cuff, like that of the Starter or Champion gear logo placement. . . the 5-1 would offer everything that the 3-1 does, but adds an external tundra shell that the 3-1 zips into, with a matching pair of H20/Wind proof external pants, with a 3/4 hide away pants leg zipping, with Velcro adjustable bottom leg cuffing. . .and hide away zipping to access under layer pocketing. . .continue to offer this in the current color choice but add Taupe and Moss to the product line and then you have dynamic engineered jacket system?

A shopper on Nov 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We are not currently expecting any more stock of this item.
