Not For The Working Person
The coat looks good until you try and start using it in a winter working environment. First off, the sleeves are quilted, not sherpa lined. Second is the pockets. Only one of the top pockets has snaps, the other has velcro, always a bad sign. The bottom two pockets are too shallow. I have a 4 year old Carhardt insulated vest. The pockets are 4" deep, measured from the top to bottom in the front. This coats are 2 1/2" deep. Stuff drops out. They aren't even good enough to secure your gloves reliably. Next is the hood. It is not high enough to work well with a hat, especially a knit hat. The hood sherpa lining rests firmly on the hat. When you look down, the hat slides but when you look up the hat is pushed down further toward you eyes. Do that enough and the hat will cover your eyes. It is really problematic to put on the hat and then pull the hood over the hat. It can be done with two hands but not one so really tough to do with a log leash or a tool. And then there is the zipper. The movable part is quite small so you have to see it to start the zipper. On my 4 year old Carhardt insulated vest this is fairly easy as the fabric at the waist lets you pull the zipper away from the stomach so you can see it to start the zipper. Not on this coat. You have to keep fussing with the coat so you can see the zipper to start it. Like the pockets and hood, no extra fabric wasted on that kind of thing. And, of course, no cord around the waste to tighten the coat up around the waist. So, bottom line, this is not a utility coat if you need to do work.
