They come equipped with a durable leather upper and a waterproof, breathable membrane to keep feet dry in wet, muddy conditions. A slip-resistant outsole meets ASTM F3445-21 SR standards to help protect against slips, trips, and falls.

Not Waterproof
Out of the box, these boots felt great, very little break in needed. However, I bought them because they claim to be waterproof and I work outdoors all winter. I've only worn them a few times and they were comfortable and seemed quite sturdy and warm but we got a half in of snow and within two hours the boots were leaking at the toe crease/toe guard. My foot is soaked. Not the Carhartt quality I'm used to unfortunately.

Rain vs. Carhartt boots rain=1 carhart= 0
I bought these boots along with carhartt woman's rain pants to accommodate me and help keep me dry while working on the roads in PNW. I am sad to admit I am sitting in my work truck with my boots off because my feet are soaked after 4 hours of work... my rain pants busted out the whole rear end from the poor seams. Wilco happily returned them after wearing them 1 day. My boots are definitely the most upsetting in this situation. If you plan on purchasing these boots, I would not plan on staying dry for to long. Hiking, they are amazing fit and support around ankle. I will say a few puddle stomping, you may not soak all the way through.
