This purchase was an experiment. I have been wearing the heavier-weight socks in winter for a while and like them quite well. I wanted to try some that might be better when it was not quite as cold. As expected, they are not as warm as the others, but they fit more comfortably in shoes. The unexpected problem is that they fall down inside my boots when I am walking outside. Having worn the heavier weight socks, I was not expecting this, and was a little disappointed. They are fine for many days, but for me, not the days when it is cold enough that I want serious winter boots.

Good fit, nice and warm, seem sturdy and well-made.

Keeps feet dry, stands up to harsh environments well (chainsawing for 6-8 hrs in 100+ temps). After a long hot day my feet are dry and comfortable. These are well worth the price, I bought enough to cover my workweek.
