Relaxed-Fit El Paso Short

I was expecting on buying a light weight version of the Crawford class pant. I don't want to wear canvas in the summer! But having a side slide pocket for my blade as opposed to an open hook for a hammer would have been better. Forget zips and snap buttons on pockets! Come on! Make it functional not fashionable. I am a size 16 gal and I I need to wear a belt on top of the non-functionality of these shorts. Hope Carhardtt heeds my words for next summer's line.

The best redeeming quality about these shorts are that they look cute and I've gotten compliments wearing them. However, I've only had them two weeks, I've worn them 3 times. Day one I noticed that the thread holding one of the side buttons on is already unraveling and there's a few inches of string hanging off the button. I also noticed that no matter what style of underwear I wear with these (thongs not included in this study) were forced into a wedgie by these shorts just by putting them on. It's not the fit it's just the way these pants are cut in the seat. I also can't fit my phone in my back pocket (where I normally put it) I have to put it in the front pocket where it is partially hanging out and whenever I bend over or kneel down it digs into my hip bone. I bought these to be light shorts to wear at work in the summer because it's going to be very hot, but I worry they will just fall apart in a few uses. The quality is not what I have come to expect from Carhartt.

They are comfortable, but I find them to be a bit loose fitting. I might have done better to order a size smaller.
