The knee pad need to be bigger.
I order 2 pair to go along with the carhartt pants, I have used them for 6 months still holding strong i just don't like how they don't completely cover the knee constantly have to adjust the knee pads. According to the size finder i need a medium for size 34 pants.

Great for Dungarees but not so great for Rigby
They work great with the Carhartt Firm Double-Front Dungaree Pants. The pads stay inside and are positioned perfectly. However, they do not work well with the Carhartt Rugged Flex Rigby Double Front Pant. I bought large pads but they fall out about halfway when I’m walking even though I positioned them above the sewn in creases. Also, the pads sit too low (because they fall down) and I have to pull the knees up with the Rigby pants when I bend down so that my knees will hit the pads. They work fine with the Dungarees. I’m going to manually sew them in on the Rigby. Disappointed because I like the Rigby pants better.

LOVE THEM, just wish they were bigger...
I love my kneepads... my only complaint/suggestion is that either the knee pads should be wider to better fit the pocket they fit in (this is what I'd suggest) or the pocket should be narrower to fit the knee pad. As it is not, the knee pads tend to slide to one side or the other and not be where my knee is when I bend down onto my knees.

Everyone needs a pair
Unfortunately I ordered a size too small so they’re prone to not being where my knee is or trying to fall out of my bib. But when I line them up with my knee they’re great, and even though they aren’t where they’re supposed to be when I’m walking, they aren’t intrusive or uncomfortable at all.

Skeptical at first
I was skeptical, especially given the price (and the fact that I’ve used the non carhartt cheapies first a few years). They arrived , they looked exactly as shown, they loaded into my double knee pants with the greatest of ease. They have outlasted every other pair I have tried. They also are way more breathable than the standard cheapies.

Very happy with purchase
Once I start working on a project it is hard for me to pull myself away and practice a little self care. Knee pads definitely fall into self care category. I own knee pads and have maybe wore them twice. The convenience of Carhartt's knee pads is genius. The fact that I can leave them inserted when I wash is a huge plus. I am very very happy with this purchase and am finally protecting my knees as I always should have been.

Really Cool!!!
After all these years I never knew what the holes at the bottom of the double knee jeans were used for. It turns out that these pads go inside. They are the best new work item in my arsenal. They dont bulge out so no one knows you are wearing them and they work great. The best part is unlike knee pads that keep slipping off of your knee, these stay in place and you forget you are wearing them. I wish I knew about these years ago.

The Bees Knees
I finally bit the bullet and bought the knee pads that insert into the double knew pants. I think they are expensive but I have to admit, they work very well. The fit is good, they stay in place and they are very easy for the knees. They stay in place through washing, essentially put them in and forget about them. I would recommend these, although I would like the price to be lower.

BEST ANSWER: Jay, I wear a 36w 30 in seam myself and recommend the large pad. They have made a big difference for me. Although I wore conventional buckle on pads for jobs I knew would need a lot of kneeling, I was still having knee problems. With the Carhartt pads I always have pads for even small jobs and my knee problems are much less.
Is size "small" going to fit the size 2 women's rugged flex work pants? They have the knee pad opening, but the waist measurements are still too large for me. Or are they cut to fit? Thanks.

If you go by the waist size of your pants , you can use the men’s knee pad size chart. I would guess you should use medium knee pads. If your size 10 women’s is about a 30-32 waist size then the mediums should be ok. You can also trim the pads with scissors if they are slightly too big. I like my pads to fill up the pocket they slide into for better protection of my knees , if you order the exact size for your pants the pads are slightly too small. I have a 36 waist but use the large knee pads which start at 38. Mediums go from 32”-36” waist size pants. Small is 28”-30” and the pads are very tiny for small.

Do you have to air dry the pants with the pads or can you just put them in the dryer?

BEST ANSWER: I installed the knee pads about 6 months ago.
I have washed these on average 2 times per week, and put them in the dryer on "low heat" setting .
I wouldn't hesitate to dry them on "high" if I needed quick turn around. These pads are very Thick and robust- I dont think you could hurt them if you tried- well, maybe if you took a very sharp knife to them, you migh do some damage

BEST ANSWER: no they are very comfortable only drawback is how the are inserted in the clothing and stay. It seems to small for the pants. I even purchased Carhartt pants. In short would buy again as I am used to adjusting them 2-3x a day but my knees are very comfortable and don't hurt as much

How easy are these to remove? I'm wondering if they will be a pain to remove for washing. They are rated for 50 wash cycles but I would like them to last longer.

BEST ANSWER: You won't have to take them out to wash, you’ll only have to take them out to put them in new pants. The knees on the pants will likely wear out before these pads will. I still have a pair the “old” rectangle, foam pads that have probably been washed well over 100 times and other than being a little thin from age still have life in them. They’ve made it through probably a dozen pair of pants and these new pads appear to be of a similar quality and I expect them to last through many pair of pants as well.

I can remove both pads in under a minute if necessary…with the pants on. Putting them back in is best done with them off but even that only takes a couple minutes per knee.

Why aren't your knee pads compatible with women's work pants? I buy Carhart work pants for $80 or more a pair, and the pants have a place to insert kneepads, but no knee pads on the market will fit inside the holes, rendering the knee pad pocket useless. I would love to see a knee pad that fits in your work pants for women. Why don't these exist yet?
