Carhartt is always good. Carhartt made in the USA is even better!
These definitely help keep your feet warm. But my main problem was that I have very large, very narrow feet. These are a great option for sock layering, for both warmth and taken up a little space in boots that are too wide.

Work great as casual/dress socks.
Needed a breathable pair of socks for casual shoes. These work great! Also wore them with one of my suits. Wore them all day long without sweating my feet and super comfortable.
