Measure the fullest part of your hips, approximately 8 inches below the natural waist.

Love it, but
I love this jacket, don't get me wrong. The only thing that I don't love is the fact that it is tight in the armpits. It is a great fit everywhere else but when I go to take it off, I struggle to get my arms out comfortably. It's definitely not a deal breaker. I haven't been in the rain with it to know whether it will keep me dry but I suspect it will as Carhartt stands by its products.
