How to Measure

Note: For best results measure over your undergarments. Use a cloth measuring tape.

Natural Waist:

Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Hip/Seat:

Measure the fullest point between your natural waist and crotch.

Inseam:

Measure from your crotch down to the desired length on body. You may also measure pants that you currently own and like. Lay the garment flat and smooth out. Measure on the front from the crotch point along the seam to the hem for the inseam length.

Sizing changes to watch out for
My husband has been wearing these jeans for work for over 20 years and has always worn the same size. However, when I reordered recently, the waist had increased by 4 inches compared to the pair we purchased just a few months earlier (March vs. August). I had to reorder and realized the sizing changes meant he had to go down two sizes. It would be helpful if the site noted that the sizing has been dramatically changed.

These jeans seem sit very low on my waist and the button above the zipper doesn't stay buttoned! Been wearing Carhartt's for over 40 years. Very disappointing! Will have to look for New Old Stock.
