Nobody can be sure Jordan Lee will be the first angler in the 50-year history of the Bassmaster Classic to win three in a row when the best anglers in the world compete on the rivers surrounding Knoxville in a few days.

However, the Auburn grad who made his mark in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series is certain what three lures he’s picking to win it, and he also confident of what clothing he’ll be sure to pack.

“This tournament won’t be a game of finesse, but instead, power fishing lures will be the major players. Either a crankbait, jig, or spinnerbait will win this Classic. You can bet the house on it,” says Lee, who used a football jig and a wacky rigged soft stickbait to win the two most recent Classics.

Here’s a look at three things you can count on Jordan carrying to Tennessee.

  • CARHARTT FORCE EXTREMES GRAPHIC HOODIE - The Classic Champ owns one of every color they make, two of some colors, and wears one pretty much everyday. He’s always cold, and he says this lightweight hoodie keeps him perfectly warm whether its 45 or 75 degrees outside.
  • CARHARTT FORCE EXTREMES SHORELINE ANGLER RAINGEAR - Hopefully it’s not raining during Classic week in Knoxville, TN, but if it’s wet Jordan’s got a suit he believes in to keep him warm and dry. Even if it’s 65 and sunny, he’ll wear the rain bibs to keep him dry when sitting on boat seats and carpet that are seemingly always wet with morning dew.
  • CARHARTT GILLIAM JACKET – Jordan always wears a Carhartt Gilliam jacket during cool weather months. In the southern parts of the U.S., you can often catch fish year-round, so winter is still a good time to fish. In other colder climates, wintertime is a good time for ice fishing.

“We live in our Carhartt Storm Defender raingear even on days when it’s not raining, because it’s comfortable and blocks the cool wind,” says Lee. “And in case it’s cold, I’ll pack lightweight shooting camo gloves, because they offer both protection from the cold, and tough-to-find ‘feel’ when you’re trying to sense a bite and handle a reel with a lot of small moving parts.”

Hopefully the weather will be warm and mild in Knoxville. But no matter what the skies bring, Jordan Lee will be ready. And you can bet he’ll have a spinnerbait, crankbait, and jig tied on.
