ALL HAIL DIANA OF DC METAL WORK

ALL HAIL DIANA OF DC METAL WORK

Ten years after becoming a proud member of the Ironworkers Union Local 377, Diana decided it was time to be her own boss. Venturing out on her own to open DC Metal Work, a metal fabrication company that’s stood tall amongst a male dominated field. 15 years later, Diana’s deep sense of accomplishment is why she’s always eager to provide other females with the encouragement and gentle nudge they might need to join the trades. She even shares her welding chops and experience with students at the Oakland-based school of crafts, The Crucible. That is, when she isn’t too busy passing down the blueprints to the way around the workshop to Diana’s 9-year-old daughter Lucy.

HERE’S TO OUR FARM MOM TRINA

HERE’S TO OUR FARM MOM TRINA

Trina’s heritage is deeply rooted in the tightly knit Californian farming community she calls home. Raising cattle, pigs, chickens, rabbits, cows, and horses on a farm that’s been in her husband’s family for 100 years. Ask her what makes her most proud, and Trina’s quick to tell you all about her organic pork and farm fresh eggs. But what truly makes this mama bear beam from ear-to-ear, is the joy she takes in watching just how naturally her son Jaden’s taken to farm life. Still only 12, Jaden’s already begun raising his own herd of cattle and nothing could make this hardworking Carhartt mom feel any prouder than seeing that.

THE FISHING AFFICIONADO MOM LINDY

THE FISHING AFFICIONADO MOM LINDY

Carhartt employee and fisherwoman Lindy Mueller remembers racing home after school to grab her fishing pole and be the first one fishing in the creek. Years later, her competitiveness and love of the outdoors drew Lindy to compete in women’s fishing tournaments from Michigan to Alaska. Today, Lindy finds joy in taking her 4-year-old son William along, watching him dig up worms from the garden and catching bluegills with sand bucket. “Being a mom that loves to fish and watching my son dabbling in the sport on his own makes me very excited for all the great memories sharing our passion together,” said Lindy. She is her son’s hero, and a mom who’s taken her own mother’s advice to heart; “do the best you can with what you have and who you are.”

AN ODE TO FULL-TIME ARTIST AND MOM MOLLY

AN ODE TO FULL-TIME ARTIST AND MOM MOLLY

Artist Molly Manor is no stranger to following her heart. Molly appreciated the exhausting, painful, monotonous parts of life, and the sense of accomplishment that followed; just like her mom taught her to do. After adding her son Sam to the mix, Molly continues to be one of those moms who can tackle whatever life throws at her, but still stay cheerier than most. Even as she left her position with Carhartt to pursue a much tougher - but infinitely more rewarding - full-time gig at home. Seizing the small window of opportunity to simplify life in a way that would allow her to stay at home, paint, and spend time with Sam. “I don't work with an end game or quitting time in mind,” says Molly, “I work because I love the job."

Mom is amazing. Working eyes open to eyes shut, seven days a week, every week a lifetime – and then some.

Capable of fixing scraped knees and bruised egos as swiftly and sure-handedly as a broken window or busted pipe. With one shoulder made for carrying loads and the other custom-built for little ones to lean on, Mom’s never met a burden she couldn’t break down or trampled flower bed she couldn’t nurse back to life.

Because that’s what the Carhartt mom was made to do. So, if you have a rugged at heart woman you want to recognize this Mother’s Day, share her photo and a little about why she’s so amazing on Instagram using the hashtag #AllHailMom.
