I have worn Carhartt carpenter pants for decades and I love them. As a forester and home gardener, they are the perfect work pants. They look good, wear very well - i.e., highly durable, have the right kind and number of pockets, and are comfortable. Before purchasing 2 new pairs online recently, I carefully checked each of the 4 pair I currently have, which fit, and they are all size 12. The new size 12 version is too big! While I still highly recommend Carhartt pants as a brand, I encourage other shoppers to purchase in a store where you can try them on first, since the cut and fit relative to stated size seems to have changed.

Nice pants, but hard to figure the size correctly. 1st pair way too big. Second is wearable but still a little too big. I loved my old standard (probably men's ones) that aren't made anymore apparently. Slightly lighter material and very good fit.

Fit is not great for curvy bodies. I read the size fit and comments. Waist gap in the back, tight in the thighs, loose at the hips. Made for cylindrical bodies, not curvy ones. I tried two different styles and sizes. Very disappointing. For reference bust 40", waist 36" hips 46" size 14 If I sized down they would be too tight in the thighs. Too much waist gap for a belt. If your waist measurement is bigger than hips, these pants might work for you.

HUGE HUGE HUGE!!! im a 2 in regular work pants and these fit 5 sizes too biggg( not exaggerating) ??????Carhartt can't get their sizing right in the womens departmentand apparently thinks every lady ordering from them are plus size

Even at the smallest size, these are too big and saggy around the waist and hips for me (5' 4", 110 lbs). The rise is also too long as the waist is almost at my ribcage causing the waistband and pocket seams to dig into my hip bone. The pockets are the best thing about these pants. I did keep them because I was desperate for a new pair of carpenter pants to wear for gardening. They do the job but aren't as comfortable as I hoped.
