Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Hip/Seat:

Measure the fullest point between your natural waist and crotch.

Too big/unflattering
I have a pair of what I thought was the same style in L that I love but are just too tight now, so I sized up to XL but these are huge! They go down almost to my knee, have a super low crotch so no chub protection, and are just generally unflattering. Maybe size down? Hopefully we can go back to the old cut! For reference I'm 5'3" and 200lbs.
