Very good jacket! Love it! 3 things: 1. The front hand pockets need to be larger and more square There is no build up on the rear so things will fall out. They're only for hands. They are lined so that is good. 2. Needs to have the heavy duty brass zipper. 3. Needs to be available in firm duck. Other than those three things it's great! Best of both worlds! I haven't tried it yet in single digit weather, but I'm sure it will perform like my j140. It was pouring yesterday. Performed great! Took about 3 hours to dry out. Go down one size as most of their other jackets. I wear an XL and got a large. Fit is perfect! Still plenty of room to layer! I have both detroits, a field jacket/ridge coat and a new j140 firm duck active jac. Other than what I said, it's great! Those are preferences not deal breakers. Overall a very nice coat! Durable and very comfortable! This could easily become my new favorite!

This is a really good Jacket. It is well made. There is room to layer. Easy in and out of arms, They have a tight band around waste and ends of arms so air does not get in. This is an amazing jacket well worth the money. I love the amount of pockets and where they were placed.

Had this jacket for 3 months and the zipper broke, not the actual zipper but the teeth of the jacket that closes the actual jacket. Im very disappointed in the quality of this jacket.

My 22 year old Carhartt coat was just in tatters so I sold it to some kid (for good $ too). Then I ordered this one, and it's pretty darned good. Fits great, might not be the 'classic' Carhartt quality but it's still a rugged, warm coat. Am happy with it...if a bit sad to see my other one go.
