"Knee" guard openings too low to where it's on your shin
The cut out for you to insert your knee pad is wayyy too low. it's practically an opening for your shin. I don't know anyone who has their knees a foot off the floor. I purchased a 32x30 and the opening for the knee pad insert starts at 8" and my pads for 9" in height so I get leg coverage from 8" to 17". Once I kneel down to work, the top of the pad is an inch below the bottom of my kneecap, which defeats the whole purpose of getting these pants and having inserts in. I have these pants around my waist but feel like it has to be as high as my belly button for them to work it's purpose

Good overall pant, less flex more rugged...
The Rigby double front is a bit more stiff than my other two pairs of weather tech and double-front rugged flex pants but still great overall flexibility and I am very happy with the durability.

Prefer the ORIGINAL Painters pants!
I buy 3-4 pair of Painters pants for my husband each year.
My husband prefers the original Carhartt Painters pants.
These look very nice and feel nice but they are not loose enough in the legs. He was hoping I could return these and purchase the original Pants. I told him that is not an option. Please offer the original again.

Natural Color
I needed white pants for work, I ordered the “Natural” color hoping they’d be close enough. They’re not bright white, but definitely close enough to it. I usually wear a 32, I ended up getting 33 and they fit great. Great pants.

Ryan T on Jun 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The waist measurement for a 36 is 37 1/2" and for a 38 is 39 1/2".
Can u suggest making these in black or navy blue please?
Glazier on Jun 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We appreciate your feedback and will forward your suggestion to our Product Design Team for future consideration.
Will these pants in natural be good for painters? Not looking for a light tan, looking for white or close to it, regular painters whites.
A shopper on May 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Not sure I have the khaki ones and after a few washes the color lightens a lot so I would assume that these will do the same. Hope that helps.
IS THE NATURAL COLOR ON THESE A TRUE WHITE OR AT LEAST OFF-WHITE? BEEN WAITING FOR CARHARTT TO COME OUT WITH ANOTHER STYLE OF PAINTERS WHITES LIKE THE b04 PANTS THAT ARE DISCONTINUED.
A shopper on May 23, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Off white.
IS THE "NATURAL" COLOR THE NEW PAINTERS WHITES? NEED A REPLACEMENT FOR WHITE CARHARTTS WORN BY PAINTERS AND UNION CARPENTERS. WONDERING HOW WHITE THESE ARE. MAYBE SOMEONE WHO BOUGHT CAN POST A PICTURE.
A shopper on May 19, 2020
Is the new "natural" color a replacement for the painter pants they discontinued? Wondering if they are more white than tan, like the old Carhartt double front painters? Miss those pants!
A shopper on May 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: These are a little bit lighter. My husband prefers the ORIGINAL Painters pants.
Do they make these or pants similar in a loose fit?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: B01 will be a similar style in a Loose fit.
Tried these on in the store and it had a hammer loop, model here doesnt. Does this I. Fact have a hammer loop or is there a comparable model with a hammer loop?
David J on Dec 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Rugged Flex Rigby Double Front does not have a hammer loop. It has a pocket on the side of the leg big enough to hold a smart phone.
How do these pants hold up for construction work? Does anyone use knee pads with them? Carhartt chat just recommended to me when I inquired on what to buy for commercial roofing pants offering warmth, durability, flexibility, and knee pads- however the reviews are mostly from those purchasing for casual reasons not work (& still reporting they aren’t durable for $50 pants) but how are there almost 5 stars? Any helpful replies welcomed please
A shopper on Nov 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Well, I'm pretty happy with them because of one main reason, their are so comfortable, and they do flex and twist in any position and literally feel like you're wearing some lightweight sweats. Do they last as long as the canvas duck type? No, and they don't have the neat pockets like them either. So I always keep a couple pair of each, and I alternate on days when I know things are gonna get really down and dirty I go with the heavy duty and on days when it's not that much of a chaotic mess, I treat myself to these. Try a pair, I bet you'll like em.
Do these pants run small i usually wear 34×34?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They can be a little tight. I ordered a 32x32 and had to get a 34x32.
can we get them in black?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We appreciate your feedback and will forward your suggestion to our Product Design Team for future consideration.
Will these be offered in a 28 inch inseam? There aren't many options for us shorter guys.
Daniel M on Aug 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We will forward your suggestion to our Product Team for review.
Is the shadow color close to black?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The shadow color is a dark gray and will be the closest to black.
Do these come in Black?
Daniel M on Apr 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This style does not come in black. We have forwarded this as a suggestion to our Product Design Team.
Do these come in the straight fit or just relaxed fit, if not will they ever come in the straight fit?
A shopper on Mar 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Style 102802 is a Relaxed Fit. We do offer styles 103340, 102821 and 103339 that are straight fit styles.
What are the factory measures of a 34x30 size and what do they shrink to when washed in hot dried in hot? Thanks.
TopGun on Feb 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The waist measurement is about 35 1/2" and the inseam is about 34." We only recommend laundering per the care instructions on the garment tag. As long as you follow the care instructions, the pants should not shrink more than about 2-4% over their lifetime.
Are they a loose fit ?
Or a relaxed fit ?
A shopper on Feb 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This style will be a Relaxed Fit.
I'm a carpenter who's worn the Made in USA Carhartt canvas double front work pants for 8-10 years now. I rotate 4 pair over about 2 years before they fray and require patch work or replacements. I have (2) QUESTIONS: 1.How long do you estimate these Flex pants to last? and 2. Do they make the double front Flex work pants in the USA?
Gary C on Jan 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The life expectancy will depend on how often they are worn and what they are worn for. This will be imported.
The double front on these pants starts 6" up from the bottom hem. All my other types of Carhartt pants the double front starts 10" up from the bottom hem. Is this a new policy? My kneepads don"t work.
Daryle B on Jan 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This feature is specific to this style; it doesn't apply to other styles.
What is the leg opening measurement for a 34” waist?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: For a 34" waist the leg opening will be 17 inches.
I have a pair in the color shadow that fit perfectly, but just ordered them in tarmac and they're too big. Will Hickory have a better fit?
A shopper on Dec 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: A small variance is possible in the garment industry, but overall, they should be fairly consistent within the same style. Please contact us at 1 800 833 3118 for further assistance.
Where could I buy knee pads that will positively fit?
RITA H on Oct 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can purchase knee pads on Carhartt.com, style #103193: https://www.carhartt.com/products/Knee-Pads-103193.
Will this pant ever come in black?
A shopper on Oct 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We do not currently make this style in Black. We have forwarded this over to our Product team as a suggestion.
Does the zipper on back pocket hurt while sitting?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve been wearing this style of pant almost everyday for the past year and the back pocket zipper has never once bothered me. Even on 6+ hour drives which I do twice every two weeks. Favorite pant, get em!
What colour is "Tarmac" considered to be? I have two pairs each of Hickory and Shadow. Tarmac looks like another iteration of grey on my screen.
A shopper on Sep 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The color name is misleading. Tarmac is a bit more greenish/gray in color, but not quite as green as army fatigues. I like the color, and it's great to have a third option.
do these have the opening for knee pads?
A shopper on Sep 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this style will have the double-front with cleanout openings for knee pads.
Are they true to length? I see mixed reviews. I hate short pants. I have the rigby 5 pocket rugged flex and they are perfect.
A shopper on Sep 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This style is true to length, with a tolerance of (+/-) 1 inch which means that a 30 inch inseam can be between 29-31 inches and be within the garment specifications.
What would the leg opening be on a size 42 waist?
Kenny on Sep 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The leg opening would be about 18.5" around.
