Always trust in Carhartt!
I love it, I got this one because I had the square toes before but the corner got work first from finishing concrete. So far awesome!

Average Boot
I normally love everything Carhartt makes but these are honestly just ok. They take about 2-3 weeks to break in and are slightly heavier than other brands wellington boots. On the durability end they did last the same amount of time as my last pair of boots. I don't really have anything good or bad to say, they are just average.

3 pairs in 6.5 years
I was a Stone Installer for my first 2 pairs. I've set 100's of pieces of Cambria down on them, kicked 2xs and skids, various metals and Constructions sites and around the home stead. I did a lot of kneeling (counter tops/tub surrounds) and the sole under the toe knuckle splits, but once you start to see it split I had a few months before I had it split completely to the point water/moisture would seep in, being Michigan it's a big deal, but i could get a year a half out of them doing aggressive construction 6-10 hours aday with 3 hours of driving. My 3rd pair I mostly worked 10-14 hour days in a Corrugate printing company. walking/standing 7/8's of the time.

The actual insole isn't the best and I have a high arch, I have bought a new Dr.Sholls heel insert with each new pair and that prolonged my love of these boots. The sewing seems have all held up, never had a sole start to fall off, no heel issues even thoughIi Mule kick on the regular as needed. Never had an issue with the finger grasps on the sides that help you put them on. This last pair is the only pair I had the metal toe ever actually show. Put some Shoe goo on it and have had it last another 3 months so far. If they could put better material in the insole it still be a 4 star functionality because it isn't insulated in the least for Northern climate. I have fairly shitty circulation for where I live and I could walk my dog most winter days for about an hour before I would want to get my toes to a heat source.

I have walked backwards quite a bit solo as work sometimes does and tandem with the nature of size of stone and card board sheets. the heal wears fairly with the rest of the sole. I plan on Mink Oiling my next pair from new.

I have had very physically demanding jobs with these boots. I believe I could recommend these boots if you get a decent heel insert ($50) and you don't do more then 12/13 hours of on your feet work, paid or on your own. and you aren't in 20-30 degree weather for more then a couple hours at a time (no room to put cheap toe warmer and work, went hunting in a stand with these and the toe warmer wasn't bad just sitting lasted twice as long then without). This is a very well constructed boot that is well worth the ~210 dollar range. If you have more foot aggressive work don't expect more then a year and a half out of these, one part of the footwear will give out.

I have not had these in very caustic environments, but I have done a lot of grinding but not a lot of welding, but my dad has similiar boots and works at a Chrome plater, he gets about a year - year a half out of his. I always preferred the round toe over the flat. I wore Carhartt Khakis mainly with these for work and about, but also kicked in some jeans and always paired well.

Don't get these for cold weather work, or if you gotta be on your feet more then 12 hours in these, Keep them dry when not using. keeping moisture over night repeatedly will lead to the lining in the heal area to loosen sooner in this last pair i have. I was also on my feet vs driving 3-4 hours a day more. fwiw.

Not so good
This is by far the worst carhartt boot I have ever purchased after about 8 months the entire bottom of the left boot split in half completley seperated which led to the leather ripping and ultimately the end of the boot

Does Carhartt provide this boot in a EE? I have a pair that are wide and are too tight around my foot. Is it safe to use saddle soap to loosen the leather so that it give me some relief. I can only see that this boot only comes with a W size.
A shopper on Sep 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We only offer wide in our boots. We do not recommend saddle soap.
What sort of chemical resistance do the uppers and soles offer? Would they hold their own against caustic?
A shopper on Feb 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The chemical resistant ratings we provide are general ratings for the properties and general performance of the compounds in the outsoles. We do not test the soles specially against any list of chemicals because of the many variables surrounding any one chemical or environment.
