Love these
Love them. Really comfortable. Didn’t buy them for work but rather for every day usage. Gotta say I get a lot of compliments.

Strange Clasps and Straps but Overall Nice Product
Bought these for my dad, who wears big & tall sizes, and lives in a competitor's jean overalls. We went on a trip to Utah in late winter, and he needed something a little warmer, but not lined. These overalls wash well, haven't faded much (we don't put them in the drier), and were reasonably warm for the 40 degree weather. The did still shrink slightly. Unfortunately, the strange straps and closure clasps make them difficult to get on and off, especially for my arthritic father. Also, we ordered one size larger and longer to account for previous reviews on sizing, which was great. (Dad is 6'1" 350 usually 52x30 and we got 54x32)

Amazing!!
Love these. Best purchase I’ve ever made for working outside. Make sure to go up a size for the bibs. The description says that, but I missed it when I first got my pair so I had to go through the return/reorder process.

BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL DESIGN
Can anyone tell me the model # of the old stiff rugged Duck Bibs PLEASE so I can search E-bay or similar salvage sellers to find used pairs of the old design. Please! Was it R01, R05, R06, or something else? There is a reason we have all been buying them forever, the new style changed everything I liked about the Carhartt bibs.

My last two pairs of bibs just wore out after 10 years of excellent performance. I just turned 60 years old and have been wearing this brand and style bib carpenter uniform since I was 20! Forty years! I went to my local work wear store and all they had was this new monstrosity. What consulting team advised you to discontinue your flagship brand icon that is synonymous with the word Carhartt? In my mind this falls right in line behind the famous “New Coke” marketing blunder of all time.

Add a new design for sure but do not discontinue the thing that made you great! That perfect functionality, fit and comfort I have known for decades could not be beat. I just cannot believe Carhartt would discontinue the ORIGINAL design and replace it with a new inferior model. The new design is a giant step backwards. Apparently crafted by a designer or new grad that has no concept of the working man’s needs in workwear.

I am not convinced that the “DESIGN WAS CHANGED USING FEEDBACK FROM OUR CARHARTT CREW, WHO ARE REAL PEOPLE WHO TEST OUR PRODUCTS AND WHO WEAR OUR GEAR DAY-IN AND DAY-OUT”, but if this is so, why not just add a new model to your product line?? I just want normal overalls again.

These were my go-to comfort clothes. The fit is different and much larger than the old R01 and R06 for some reason, if I need a big pair for winter layering, I size it way up for long johns, in hot sweaty weather extra material or bagginess chaffs and the weight is a drag to carry around, seems like I could put a person in each leg when they are new, the bib area seems way too tall. If I try changing a measurement to fit one body part, some other body part suffers, and they look just plain goofy and unprofessional.

Smaller, uncomfortable hand pockets that are too low and that barely hold my every day work items.

Swapping sides of the leg pockets for some reason, a useless change.

The hammer loop switched sides.

Weird gigantic, overly tall, reinforced leg cuffs that look like they are from kids or clown clothes.

Elastic waist thing is like sweatpants for fat people or maternity clothes.

Buckles are different and are VERY hard to get on and off!!!, that would not be very fun when your hands are frost bitten or during a bathroom emergency, and they are murder on my dryer.

Chest and Pencil pockets are too short and breast pocket missing snaps replaced by unwanted zippers, (another thing to break or scratch up the job site). No quick access.

My phone does not fit in the “phone pocket”.

Rivet design/placement is poor, and if you like having a long fix it punch list on jobs, the last thing you need is more metal scratching up finish work, walls, furniture, leather seats.

Once customers are alienated by their favorite BRAND they usually do not go back, and it seems my decades long relationship with Carhartt is coming to an end.

What a terrible thing to happen, I cannot believe Carhartt would let us down so bad. Bring back the old style please, I cannot work in these.

Almost perfect
These are everything that you need and want in a pair of overalls. My only gripe is that the straps are pretty stiff to adjust, and the waist button can get irritating on your hip area. I'm hoping both of these will fade once they have been washed a couple of times and softened up.

Serious design flaws.
First off the zipper was broken, not sure how that passed quality control but I can’t for the life of me get the zipper to move. It won’t work with finessing and it won’t work with yanking.. Going from a 32x32 to a 34x34 seems to be going up two sizes. Pencil pockets are too short and left breast pocket seems like it should hold a phone (in my case an iPhone 11 Pro with an otter box case) but it is slightly too tight and short to be useful. I like that if I put my phone there it wouldn’t fall out, but i don’t have that problem on a different pair of overalls from a different company that isn’t as tight. Straps are very long, shortening them all the way left them feeling baggy and I’m a lanky 6’2”. Rivet design/placement is poor so don’t forget and sit in a wooden chair. Cause, you know, high end clients love when you scratch the heck out of their antique chair. Lower butt pocket rivets are just not a good idea. Overall the material seems sturdy, and it’s possible my zipper was just a one off defect but all said and done this is not the product for me.

Great for chopping wood
This is my first pair of Carhartt overalls. I think they’re great. They’ve been great protection while chopping up the giant cherry tree that came down in my yard. My only issues are that the straps are not as adjustable as I would have hoped and the side pockets are not deep enough. Other than that I’m very pleased.

Why are you no longer carrying the 56 inch waist duck bibs? I have a pair, I want to buy more.
A shopper on Apr 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that the size you are interested in has been discontinued. Typically when we discontinue an item, size, or color it is due to a lack of sales. Although an item may sell well in one region, if it does not do well nationwide we are forced to discontinue that item.
I am wondering if these are the best/ most recommended overalls for summer heat? If not, then which overalls are best for 75-95 degrees of summer heat?
Thanks
Stephen G on Apr 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I wore these while working on a farm in central California during the summer with temps frequently in the 90s and 100s (but with low humidity). They're definitely hot and heavy, but you get used to the weight and heat. I plan on getting a pair of duck pants for summertime though, as the upper portion could be too much for sweltering days. I can't speak on east coast/muggy weather though - they might be too swampy above 85.

BEST ANSWER: This style will be a straight leg opening.
I want to use these for hunting. Is the adjustable clip on the elastic strap going to get in the way of me shooting my shotgun?
Bird Dog on Feb 26, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I would say - no problem. Unless you do something strange with the stock of your gun... I've been shooting in mine lately and it works just fine!
The only one minor grump I have on them is they went to some other maker ont the strap buckle and it's a little hard to get undone. I'm about to start filing on mine to make it work easier.
Does this Bib (Black) have slot to attach pocket watch?

Hot?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Are you asking if they will be warmer than wearing a pair of jeans? I do not think so. If it’s window even though the fibers are sewn tight you still can feel a slight breeze. If you wearing them for working in summer I suggest getting them in the brown as black takes in all the sun.
Do you still sell the bibs with the pocket on the front? Di I have to special order them?
Alec B on Dec 19, 2020
BEST ANSWER: All of our bibs will have a pocket in the front. Unfortunately, we do not offer special orders.
