This Raingear Bible is awesome!
I buy Carhartt products every year. I love the level of quality that Carhartt puts into their products. This Rainwgear Bib has matched and exceeded my expectations of another product from their product line.

Works For The Railroad
Trust me I have tried a lot of rain gear over the span of my career working for the railroad. From cheap as I could find to expensive. And I can’t tell you how many times I have had rain pants rip stepping up on rail cars. Nothing worse than a wet $$$ when it’s cold and nasty. But these bibs.....game changer. They don’t bind up like the pants do. So when you are high stepping to get off or on a rail car they move with you... No more wet $$$. The zippers on the side make getting them on or off a breeze. Stay dry even in a driving rain. AND the best of all they breath better than pants. They are very durable.... stood up to knees down in the gravel lacing airlines on rail cars to climbing up and tying brakes.

Waterproof and breathable
These are absurdly good rain pants and they actually breathe. I have worked outside for 8+ hours in pouring rain with theses on and at the end of the day was a little damp at the seams. Getting that level of rain protection with pants that actually breathe is and don't immediately start to feel sweaty and stuffy is amazing.

Nice
Although i have not had them very long they feel rugged
and durable, not cheap thin plastic, only been in light rain so far, so haven't been tested in a downpour but stayed dry.

Expensive “waterproof bib“
I used them for 12 hours at work and they did not perform as expected. I expected them to be completely water proof but I then realized that they won’t be waterproof if their not rubber. They were quite expensive too and I won’t be wearing them again. I still love carharrt though, great work clothes, just not the waterproof bib for my application.

Shoreline bibs.
It looks to be well made and durable. I had to exchange the small for a medium as it was too tight but the medium fits well. I have not had a chance to test it out yet, but I have no doubt it works as advertised.

I love Carhartt, it fit perfectly around my chest and waist, but, too long in the inseam. So, I gifted it to my commercial fishing friend.

I’m going to doing deck work on a ship. Can anybody recommend me some good coveralls to wear?
A shopper on May 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have purchased every style of bib-overalls from Carhartt, I’m 6’5” over 290 lbs, they are all comfortable, and last a long time, you can’t go wrong with any style you choose
If I wear a 34 waist and 32 length do I need a bigger size to wear pants under or does the size compensate for pants under bibs?
A shopper on May 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Depending on the type pants you are planning to wear I would. I got mine for snow removal at work and our first goal was to stay dry vs staying warm. I don't wear pants, just like a long john. They are incredibly warm for not being Arctic gear, we stay dry and light enough to make transitions indoors without over heating. Hope it helps. Enjoy!
I'M LOOKING FOR A PAIR OF BIBS TO KEEP ME DRY IN A FERTILIZER FACILITY IN TEMPS FROM 60 TO 90, WILL THESE BE TO HOT?
THOMPSON04 on Mar 12, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have used this bib for fishing in cold temperatures (Northern California/Oregón áreas) and the bib have excelled under those conditions. They are very heavy duty type , I do not recommend them for hot weather environment as the materials are stiff and thick with good insulation . hope this help with your question
I work around rebar,,and wire rips a lot of my clothes. Would these hold up?
A shopper on Feb 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Probably not. I would go with duck bibs
Are they quilt lined or have any lining?
A shopper on Nov 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This style will not be lined.
Do these bibs have an elastic gaiter at the ankle?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, this style will not.
How strong are these? My husband polishes granite for a living and we are sick of getting rain suits from Walmart. They are easily torn.
A shopper on Sep 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I wore these bibs in the middle of winter in upstate New York. Temperatures plummet to -30 sometimes. I worked on a dairy farm where I endured extremely cold and wet environments. They are a bit pricey but I was always warm and always dry. They never tore and zippers and buttons always worked. They got a little to warm when it reached about 40 to 50 degrees outside.
We received Bibs as a gift wrong size. Can we exchange them? I don't know where they were bought and still have tags on them. The man we got them from passed away.
A shopper on May 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Please contact us at 1-800-833-3118 so that we can assist you further.
what size is the 4xl?
bubba on Jan 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Our 4XL will fit a chest of 58-60 inches and waist of 52-54 inches.
so my question is has any one thought or used these bibs for snowboarding?
Steven B on Jan 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They work great for ski/snowboard. Only issue is the the side zips tend to unzip at the waist a little after bending down or crashing. Put 100 + days on a pair last season.
These compared to the force extreme shoreline angler bibs... which can hold up better in downpour rains? My boyfriend works outdoors at night for hours and some times in the down pour rains. Wondering which bibs would be best. Also need something good for all seasons.
A shopper on Nov 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Both will have the same waterproof protection.
Can you access your pants pockets while wearing these?
A shopper on Nov 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I lower the side zippers a bit from the waist and keep the buttons fastened and it works great. Worth noting that I tend to wear pants with side slit pockets, not jeans. It would probably be more difficult to access jean pockets.
What is the expected service life of these bibs? If a seam comes undone near the crotch for example within a year, would you honor the warranty?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Please contact our Customer Service Department with any warranty questions or concerns at 1-800-833-3118, Monday-Friday 8am-9pm EST and Saturdays from 9am-5pm EST.
Will these stay water proof while pressure washing all day data minimum of 3500psi?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I work on a ship, and I’m often on deck all day working in the rain. These have been great. I’ve never had water come through, and they are tough and warm. Thouroughly recommend them.
Would these be good for commercial salmon fishing or you think they would get too funky? Do they rinse off well?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Probably not. The material doesn’t have a rubbery smooth surface and would be hard to get clean. I bought mine to use as rain gear for motorcycling and they serve that purpose just fine.
This is warm?
A shopper on Feb 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is not an insulated garment.
does these have knee pad openings?
nichole l on Feb 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No knee openings
When will Carhartt offer this product for women, or what is the size equivalent for a women size 10 short?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do not plan to offer this particular product for women, but you may like our women's Cryder Bib Overalls (102740). They are water repellent and feature 60g of Thinsulate insulation for warmth without bulk. A men's medium is roughly like a women's 10 in this style, but please contact Customer Service with your measurements for more detailed information.
