It’s a good jacket but the color was not the same. It was light gray and I was looking for a darker gray color.

all this item needs is a drawstring at the lower hem, and it would be 150% perfect.

This is the 3rd time I’ve bought this jacket. The first time was about 17 years ago, so about 8-9 years per jacket. Great deal!

Is the J140 warmer than the style #104050 jacket?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They will have the same warmth.
I see this jacket is a J140 but is says it's an Active jacket....so is the shell softer and more pliable than a regular J140 you say is stiffer than a J130 sandstone jacket? Also what is the difference between these and the J40 "sierra" version that also has the quilted flannel lining?
Pat on Nov 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The J140 and J130 have always been active jacs. An active jac will include the following features: rib knit waist band, rib knit cuffs and attached hood. The Sierra Jacket (style J141) will not have a waist band. The J130 and J141 have a sandstone duck outer-shell, so they will feel a bit softer than the firm duck outer-shell.

Kathy W on Nov 10, 2019

Has the Red color J140 jacket been discontinued?
Elijah B on Oct 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that the color you are interested in has been discontinued. Typically when we discontinue an item, size or color it is due to lack of sales. Although an item may sell well in one region, if it does not do well nationwide we are forced to discontinue that item.
Are all carhart coats and jackets waterproof?
A shopper on Oct 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, they will not all be waterproof.
Hello, I was wondering about which coat had a slim fitting that still is in the warmest lining category? I know this is a bit unorthodox for carhartt but I'm looking for a coat to use as an athletic trainer in Montana winters. so I need something durable slim fitting and warm! Thank you.
A shopper on Oct 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Carhartt garments are many things, but you couldn’t really call them slim or figure-hugging! This is particularly true for outer garments designed for severe winters. You might, perhaps, consider trying a size smaller than your usual?
will this jacket fit over a hoodie? I wear a small Hoodie and my trufit size is a small so should I go with small or medium?
A shopper on Oct 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Here’s what I do: I am a medium and my medium-fit coat fits a little big on me. I wear a thin zip up sweatshirt, put a down jacket over that, then the coat. Very warm! Sometimes I just need a middle layer to keep the breeze out. I would say go with a small.
What’s the difference between the Active Jackets and the Full Swing Jackets?
A shopper on Sep 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hardworking men and women told us they wanted gear with more stretch and recovery - and we listened. The result was our revolutionary Full Swing® technology: a series of hardworking jackets and pants built to give you greater range of motion. The regular Active Jackets do not have this Full Swing technology which is going to be the biggest difference.

I live in NYC so it tends to get below 20 on occasion and averages between 30 and 38 in midwinter. I wear sweaters a lot so I'd already have a warm baselayer. Is this jacket appropriate?

BEST ANSWER: This Jacket is graded warmest and is wind and water-resistant.
I’m 6’1 200 pounds with 34 waist and and big chest should I get a large? And could I layer with it like one of your heavyweight hoodies?
