Since 1889, Carhartt has been building best-in-class apparel for the active worker. Our founder, Hamilton Carhartt, spoke to railroad workers on the job as he developed Carhartt’s very first products. Not only have we been making clothes for the worker for over a century, we’ve been talking to our consumers for over a century. In order to make sure our products will continue to serve your needs for the next century, we’ve enlisted an army of hardworking men and women to help us develop a better product and experience. We call these folks "Groundbreakers."

Not bad
Shirt performs as advertised. Did a lot of welding and torching with it yesterday. Thicker than I wanted/realized. But still a good quality shirt. Not great for summer, but will be excellent for colder temperatures/climates.

I use these as welding shirts since they seem to hold up better than actual cotton welding jackets/shirts. Im a pretty slim guy so the small fits me quite well without being restricting or limiting to my movement ability.

Great shirt, still very large for a medium
I like everything about this shirt except it's clownishly large for a medium. I bought Medium-tall for a reason, to get the length that a Medium-regular doesn't offer in the arms and torso. Somehow it doesn't fit like a medium in the chest, and it's not even close - more like large.

I love the shirts and wear them almost everyday. Just a warning, they do run about 1 size big so if your a medium order a small!

a little stiff but otherwise great
This is a great, high-quality shirt. I use it as an overshirt and it works very well. As it happens I don't actually need the flame-retardant feature (although it's nice to know it's there). I do find the shirt a little stiff, perhaps because of the flame retardant.

Medium fits like a large I use it like a jacket .
Collar 17"/Pit to Pit 24"/ Waist 24"/Length 34"/ Sleeve 26"/ Medium fits like a large. If I wanted an exact fit to wear all day, I'd order a small.

Nice
These are great shirts and stand up to long term use. My husband is 6'8" and the 3x tall is big enough to wear undershirts. The arm length is perfect. Keep doing a great job. Only negative is the price. They're a little to expensive.

Does the giant tag on the bottom of the shirt come off?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This tag is sewn in.
I saw where this shirt runs large, I usually wear a medium, so should I order a small?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Some of that depends on if you are in cold weather where you were a thermal under. I buy the size for me, usually were tee under at least. I am a little heavy though, with bigger arms (that is where I had problems with other makes) so you will want to take that into a count. I love them, I get about a year out of them.
I have a FR shirt, but the large white label was not on it, but it's on the shirt in most of the pictures. Can it easily come off without leaving a mark so you can wear it untucked?
Sherri R on Dec 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I had to look, and I don't have a label on my or evidence of one being there. Also be careful in the size you get because it shrinks at least one size. I wear mine untucked all the time.
Is this twill material 100% cotton or what blend?
Guy S on Jul 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This shirt is made from a 7-ounce, FR twill: 88% cotton/12% high-tenacity nylon.
Is this product good for arc/stick is this product good for arc/stick welding, grinding and metal work?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do not recommend any of our garments for welding.
Is this shirt 8.9 twill mid or heavy weight?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is a heavyweight shirt that is made of 7-ounce, flame-resistant twill.
Is this shirt a heavyweight?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is a heavyweight shirt.
How much do these shirts shrink (length and width) after recommended washing?
A shopper on Nov 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Our FR garments should not shrink more than 3-5% throughout the life of the garment as long as the care instructions are followed.
recommended washing instructions?
