Great "Go To" Jacket
The Quick Duck Jefferson Active Jacket is my favorite piece of outerwear. This jacket is comfortable and not too bulky. It's great for almost all outdoor activities. While not considered "rain wear" this jacket does a nice job of keeping you dry in a light rain and warm in a stiff wind.

The fit of the jacket is "athletic" - by that I mean not too bulky or baggy like some winter coats can be. My favorite feature of this jacket is the classic yet stylish look. It's not flashy but let's face it - if you're shopping here you're probably not looking for flashy. This jacket fits in just as well on the town as it does on the farm and can be worn with "dressier" clothes or casual wear.

Like all my favorite Carhartt gear it wears well and has a small break in period. The edges of the fabric around the cuffs and zipper have that slightly faded worn look that gives it nice character. Not unpleasant or tacky.

Living in the ever-changing weather of the Midwest where we can see a 60 day followed by 6 inches of snow this jacket has great versatility and I wear it from fall to spring.

Overall this jacket is a home run and a very solid offering from Carhartt. If you are looking for a everyday jacket you can't go wrong with the Jefferson Active Jacket.

Great jacket
Nice jacket, very warm. Haven't been in the rain yet. One issue thought is I wish the sleeves were a bit longer. I normally like a bit of overhang past my wrist. I think they feel a bit too short but not enough to return.

Love This Jacket But
I wish you would offer this jacket with a snap on hood so you can take it off when not in use. I also have your Quick Duck Jefferson Traditional Jacket and your Quick Duck Jefferson Vest and they keep me warm throughout all of Wisconsin winters. Please consider offering this jacket with a snap on hood in the future.

It's okay. I'm happy with the purchase.
Warm and lightweight with the exception of the zipper, which requires some strength to losend from the bottom. Preferably an XS size if were available.

Does Carhartt still make the Livingston Duck jacket? I need a replacement for a lost and detached hood.

Carhartt used to make a lightweight jacket similar to a Levi denim jacket. It came in tan and chocolate colors. I can’t find it on the website. Do they still make this jacket?
A shopper on Mar 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that the style you are interested in has been discontinued. Typically when we discontinue an item, size or color it is due to lack of sales. Although an item may sell well in one region, if it does not do well nationwide we are forced to discontinue that item.
Mum husband is 6 ft tall and very skinny. Should I get him a small or medium? Usually smalls are too short for him while mediums are usually too baggy on him? Doesn’t this have a longer midriff/back?
brittany s on Mar 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would say to get a small as this jacket is very roomy and long, going below the waist. I bought a medium at first and it was too large so I gave it to my husband who loves it. I am 5'9" and weigh 140 pounds, and it is still large enough to fit many layers underneath. It is very versatile and I love the water resistant cloth. It has been a great jacket all winter for the farm chores. And it looks nice enough to wear to casual events, which my husband has done.
Are the sleeves on the Large Tall longer than the Large regular? What is the length of the Large Tall sleeves?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The sleeve length for a Large Tall will be 39 1/8 inches.
Is this warmer than J140?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The J140 and the 101493 will be similar in warmth. The J140 would be considered a little warmer than the 101493.
what is the sleeve and back length for the Large and Medium size?
Josh A on Nov 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Center Back Length for the size Large Regular is 28 1/2 inches and for the size Medium Regular is 28 1/2 inches. Sleeve Length for the size Large Regular is 36 1/2 inches and for the size Medium Regular is 37 1/8 inches. Sleeve length is measured from the center of the back to the wrist.
How does this jacket compare to the 3 season mid weight hooded sweatshirt ?
Scott H on Oct 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There are multiple differences. The Jefferson is an actual outerwear jacket so it is going to be warmer and more substantial, while the 2-Season Hooded sweatshirt is just that - a sweatshirt. Please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1 800 833 3118 if you need further assistance.
Just bought the jacket today and noticed the hood doesn't have normal tie cords... Do you just pull the cord through the gizmo/knob thing to draw up extra space without being able to pull sides together????
A shopper on Feb 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I wore this jacket all winter here in Ohio for farm chores and I like the way the hood fits over a knit hat. It hugs around your face and I felt no need pulling it closer.
What is with the open loop inside by hood?
Rob R on Feb 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The loop allows you to hang your jacket on a hook if you wish.

Corey on Dec 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This jacket is water repellent and offers Thinsulate insulation. It is designed for warmth without bulk. However, the Thinsulate lining is not as warm as our Quilted Flannel or Arctic Quilt Lining.
Do you have flannel lined?
A shopper on Nov 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do not offer the Jefferson with a flannel lining.
I just purchased this jacket. I like the fit and quality. I am really anti logos. I don't like them on my clothes. I carefully cut off the patch on front and behind the neck without any issues. I want to remove the logo on the left sleeve. What's the best way to do that? A heat gun on low? Goo Gone? I'm ok risking some minor damage to the fabric. I just want to logo and words off.
A shopper on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately we cannot advise you regarding garment modification as it can void the warranty.

A little over a month wearing the jacket it soaks in the water is there any fix for this?
A shopper on Jan 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: While this garment is not waterproof, it is water repellent. The water should bead up in light rain or quick showers. Please contact Customer Service at 1 800 833 3118 if you feel there might be a concern with your jacket.
Why does my quick duck jefferson active 3m jacket not have a opening inside for my headphones as shown in the picture? I just bought it today.
A shopper on Jan 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We have removed the media port from our outerwear, so the more recently produced jackets and coats will no longer have this feature. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Does the hood fit over hardhats?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2016
