Full Swing Cryer Jacket
Love it. I have been eyeing it for three years now. It is light and comfortable and the rating says its good for cold weather wear. And I don't look like a fish bobber or like I'm wearing a flotation device.

Great jacket with minor issues
This jacket fits true to size with room to layer, but no really need to because it is VERY WARM! The arm length was a bit short when stretching my arms out and it attracts lots of lint which is why I gave it 4 stars. I wore it by a fire and after 2 washes following the washing instructions, still smells like fire. Overall, happy with the jacket.

Not warm enough to work outside in the winter
I wish I could get my money back on this. I bought this to work at an open dock in the Minnesota winter and it prooved to be insufficiently warm even when layered and wearing insulated bibs. The sales person said this was the warmest rating but it's not adequate for outside work below 25F. I wear two underlayers, one synthetic, one merino wool, a winter shirt and the jacket and I can feel the cold on my back and shoulders. I can't wear more because I have to be able to remain very flexible. Within the first month one of its snap buttons came off and got a small rip on the side. This is a terrible jacket for working outsider in the winter.

I absolutely love this jacket. I currently live in Florida and bought it because we are getting stationed in Maine. Well being pregnant all my winter jackets didn't fit so I packed them. Yes Florida gets cold, it gets below freezing regularly and will sit about 55 during the day with 20-30mph winds plus humid so it's bone chilling, especially in the morning, then by noon it's time for swimsuits and then back to freezing again. We go through every season in a day and the next day it will be 90deg and the day after freezing again. There isn't time to adjust and you always need one of everything for clothes. I followed the sizing chart since I'm pregnant and will be getting bigger, and this jacket fits perfectly! I was worried because it said I would be a medium and I'm normally an xs. Well it looks just fine on me and I love it! The pockets are awesome, the jackets very warm and really easy to move in. I can't wait for Maine weather to try it out.

How cold is this coat rated for?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We do not temperature rate our garments because everyone has a different threshold for what they consider to be warm.
I ordered a sweater in a size small, and the arm length was perfect but the rest was a bit baggy, should I size down for this jacket?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I wear a womens medium in all sweaters, shirts, and my Carharts. This jacket in particular is my favorite by far. It's got great comfort with an added length to the wrists for protection in cold weather. I bought mine because I chop my own firewood (only heat source) and the expandable inner back is fantastic as is the fitting at the shoulders and elbows. It's also a very nice looking jacket. HIGHLY recommend this jacket.
Does this coat come in women’s tall? (With longer arm length?)
A shopper on Feb 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We are sorry, we will not offer a tall in women sizes.
Is this material noisy when you move your arms?
Tmgraham on Jan 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The material is the same as the men’s carhartt jackets. There’s minimal noise when moving. Definitely not noisy like your typical winter jacket.
Are these made in china?
A shopper on Jan 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This style will be made in Vietnam and China.
How rain resistant is this coat? The weather on the Oregon coast is wet, but I also want to be warm.
A shopper on Dec 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will be perfect for you! I live in Vancouver, Canada and use it in the wind, rain, and minimal amounts of snow. Rain rolls right off; I've never felt the jacket was wet after being in the rain. It's also surprisingly warm. I have a very difficult time finding jackets that really insulate (I'm built small and don't produce a lot of heat myself). I found that with a regular t-shirt and this jacket, I am comfortable in temperatures around the freezing mark. I bought one size larger than I thought I would need so that I can always layer a sweater underneath for days below freezing temperatures. I highly recommend it for it's warmth and rain-resistant properties.
Is this warmer than the caldwell?
A shopper on Dec 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Cryder Jacket will have a warmer lining than the Caldwell.
Do you offer tall in any women’s coats?
A shopper on Dec 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We will not offer tall sizes at this time.
Does it have zipper pockets?
Chelsie C on Nov 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It has five pockets. Two outer at the hips, one outer left breast pocket, and one deep inside left. These four zip. And then a generous sized fifth pocket inside with a Velcro tab. I love this jacket.
Hi. I am a veterinarian and work outdoors part of the time. I am looking for a warm jacket that is not bulky and allows me freedom of movement. Ideally rain resistant or rain proof. Sometimes, on a farm, I have to walk in the woods, such as when on a deer farm, and there may be briars. In the past, I have had a mens' Carhartt and it is "old as dirt" so I wanted a new coat and am thrilled there are women's versions. I am interested in trying a Full Swing Jacket but unsure which version would be best. I want a NON bulky coat because sometimes I have to wear coveralls or tyveks over them. . I think this one but am a tad concerned if it would be durable if I had to be in the woods. Recommendations and suggestions?
Amy N on Nov 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This jacket is great by its self for most of the year, I currently think its warm enough with a nice sweater under it. But when it gets below 20 I need a base layer a mid layer and then the jacket minimum. I use a little different layers when its below 30. That's why I picked it, because I knew I could easily layer with it all year long. For people who don't have the right base and mid layers it, or who don't like layering I would not recommend this jacket. But I love the jacket.
Does this jacket have those stretchy cuffs that keep the cold out as seen on the women’s utility jacket (#103909)?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This style will have internal rib knit storm cuffs.
True fit is telling me to order a small, But it is falling on the snugger end. I generally wear a small in most things but I ordered a vest last year from carhartt in small and it is pretty darn snug. I am 5'2" 135lbs 32dd bust. Would you recommend getting the small or sizing up to the medium? Or should I go with the mens small? So many choices. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
Samantha on Oct 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Medium if it’s the jacket with the brown option and Sherpa. Small if it’s the jacket with the canvas zip pockets. I have both. I’m 5’4” 130 lbs and the one in brown with the sherpa is slightly smaller. Hope this helps. The question with the picture doesn’t appear when I write the answer so I’m not sure what coat you’re asking about. I have both the green full swing, which feels larger in size small and I’m 36 A. And the brown with Sherpa type stuff in it and it is more snug.
Is this the same material as the bibs?
A shopper on Oct 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This will be the same material as style 102740 Cryder Bib's.
What is the back length of a small vs. medium?
pa g on Oct 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The small will have a center back length of 25 3/8 inches and a Medium will be 26 inches.
Is this warm enough for MN winters?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, not as your only coat. I’m in northern Wisconsin and this coat is great for the warmer winter days, but with only a medium layer under it, I’m only warm to about 10 degrees. Any colder and I switch to a down coat. However, if you got it a size bigger and wore a thick sweater underneath, it would work.
How long is the XL in the back?
A shopper on Oct 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The center back length will be 27 7/16" in an XL.
Will the blue color be back in stock?
A shopper on Aug 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that color has been discontinued.
Does this Hood fully detach?
A shopper on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, the hood is not detachable.
Does hood come off?
A shopper on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, the hood is not detachable.
What size would be equivalent to a men’s large?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: if you wear a Large in men's, you would probably want to go with an XL in our women's line. Please contact us at 1 800 833 3118 with any questions.
What is the length of this jacket in a 2X?
A shopper on Feb 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The center back length for a size 2XL will be 27 1/2 inches.
Could I wear a thick hoodie underneath or should I size up?
A shopper on Jan 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You should be fine with your regular size, unless you want the coat to fit very loose. I got an XS and I can wear three layers (t-shirt, longsleeve shirt, and hoodie) underneath - and it's still comfortable with lots of room to move. The waist snaps at the back give it a nice shape even with lots of layers.

However, the sleeves were a bit short so the hoodie (or shirts) underneath might stick out at the cuffs.
I am 5’4 and I weigh 190lbs I have pretty wide shoulders. I have a Large north face jacket and it fits good except for the fact that it is too tight for my shoulders. What size carhartt jacket would I need?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Our sizes are based on chest and waist measurements. You are welcome to use our Size & Fit Guide with your measurements. Feel free to contact us if we can be of further assistance.
