Why Carhartt?
I have been wearing these pants for work for the last 5 years. I went to the local workwear store yesterday and was shocked when they told me these are discontinued. These use to be the best fitting and long lasting double knee on the market. Please bring these back.

I work in a laundry Department that issues out employee uniforms. The guys love these pants........ we got in some of the other style that are loose fit and they hate them. They call them "clown pants" they want the relaxed style back.

Please don't discontinue the 1889 series
These are the best pants for working in that you guys make. You should not discontinue them, or absorb them into your WIP line. You should also make a Bib overall to add to the series. Thank you. I love these pants.

These are great
Hi, yeah I'd like to add my name to the list of ppl who really like these pants and don't want them to be discontinued. There are a lot of ppl who do work and don't want huge massive pants and all the extra fabric weighing them down. Also, these just look pretty good and fit well. I think they're important in your lineup of products.

Perfect pair of work/everyday pants!! Best fitting Carhartts
Please, please bring these back. With more color options also. Have been wearing them everyday for work. Not at all tight fitting, but definitely more narrow legs than normal. They are perfect fit and I would buy every color and any additional colors should the bring them back. Best carhartt pants made- side note bring back the quilt lined pants (not overalls) while you’re at it!

You should bring this style back. I will add to THE OBVIOUSLY HUGE List if people who want these, or a similar DOUBLE KNEE style pant back in stock. If they weren’t selling, it must have been a mistake on the part of marketing or distribution, since these would clearly sell well. The regular/loose fit is just way too baggy. Objectively. I don’t want to look like a cholo or gangster or clown when I wear your pants to work. I also don’t want them to snag on brush. I’m a professional forester looking for slimmer pants. I work for a living - Isn’t that the demographic you are supposed to be catering? Not everyone who physically works is obese or overly muscular. I’m a regular guy. Please help me and others like me by producing reasonably sized pants.

BEST ANSWER: We would recommend trying style 103340, The Rugged Flex Straight Fit Duck Double Front Pants. These will also be a 12 ounce Duck material like the B361. We have forwarded your comments to our product team for further consideration.
Just bring these back already?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We do not have plans to bring this style back, but we appreciate your feedback and have forwarded your question to our Product Design team.
Please tell us these will make a comeback? There is a huge market for these evidenced by lots of companies trying to produce something similar in recent years. These not selling must have been a marketing failure!

BEST ANSWER: We don't have current plans to bring this style back, but we'll definitely share your input with Product Design as a suggestion!
Has there been any effort made to bringing this style pant back? Pants similar to this style are not comparable.
A shopper on Aug 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We do not have current plans to bring this style back, but it is possible that it (or a comparable style) will become available in the future.
When will size 30 waist be available?
A shopper on Aug 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We apologize, we do not plan to restock this style since it has been discontinued.
I work in the public works department for a city and wear your pants daily. Came here to buy 3 more pairs for the summer. Discontinued? You just shut the door on an entire market segment that doesn’t want to wear canvas bags over their legs. I don’t care about the 1889 branding or the fancy patch. In fact, keep that stuff and charge less. Give me any pant that is double-front and slimmer fitting and I will throw my money at you. You’re making a lifetime customer look elsewhere.
A shopper on Jun 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We appreciate your loyalty and apologize that this pant was discontinued. We will share your input with Product Design. In the meantime, you may wish to take a look at style 102802.
Please bring these back, I didn't realize they had been discontinued or else I'd have bought a half dozen pair.
A shopper on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We are happy to forward your suggestion to our Product Design Team for future consideration.
These are being discontinued??! I've been wearing these for years - the other styles just don't fit me. Please please please bring them back!
A shopper on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, this style has been discontinued. However, we're glad they work well for you and will be glad to share your input with Product Design.
Just adding to the chorus of voices already clamoring for them -- why won't you be bringing these back? Please bring them back!

How do these pants sit on the waist?
A shopper on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not well for me. I'm portly. My waist is 42" and these pants ride low on my hips which means I had to retro-fit them with buttons inside the waist band to accommodate button-type suspenders, also know in England as braces. If you have a buff bod then you can probably get them to stay up with just a belt. The way my stomach is they kept falling down even with a belt, hence me going to suspenders.

But they were still uncomfortable because of the shortness of the crotch. For me they need to be longer in the crotch. The measurement from the crotch to the waist band is only 13". On my cheap pair of jeans the crotch measurement is 14 1/2" . If they were longer in the crotch, I would be buying several pairs but I'm gonna try to unload these at my next yard sale because with being so short for me in the crotch, they are uncomfortable to work in.

I will say they are unbelievably rugged and well made. If you have the body for them more power to you. But for an older portly guy like me they were an expensive lesson learned.
Can you please bring these back? I would buy and wear only these forever. These were the perfect pants for everything. They'd even replace my levis

BEST ANSWER: We'll be glad to share your input with Product Design.
Why discontinue this style? The other double fronts are like wearing potato sacks. I swear by everything carhartt for my work wear, coats, pants, sweatshirt and shirt but you guys forced me to now shop other brands for pants. Bring them back!
A shopper on Mar 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Typically when we discontinue an item, size or color it is due to lack of sales. Although an item may sell well in one region, if it does not do well nationwide we are forced to discontinue that item. We value your input and will share it with our Product Design team.
Please tell me these pants are coming back?!?!?
A shopper on Mar 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We are sorry, but this style has been discontinued. We will share your interest in this style with Product Design as a suggestion.
So these pants are discontinued? I’m a small guy in the fields and baggy workk clothes always get in the way, are they going to makke any new relaxed fit/traditional fit pants likke these in a 28” waist thats nooot blue jean material??
A shopper on Dec 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This pant has unfortunately been discontinued. You may like style 102802 or 101710, though the smallest waist size is 30. We will share your interest with Product Design.
wtf are you guys doing over there?! One of the most popular, and most requested pants you've ever made. And you discontinue it?!?!?!?!?!? Bring them back. Also, make a rugged flex version!
A shopper on Nov 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that this item has been discontinued. However, we'll gladly share your input with Product Design as a suggestion.
Why do the different colors fit differently? I have it both through friends' testimonies and personal experience that (for example) the black bibs and pants fit tighter than Carhartt Brown bibs and pants of the same exact size.

WHY DOES THE FRONT HAVE AN OPENING AT THE BOTTOM AND THE TOP?
LAROXIE on Jul 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think to allow for more freedom of movement between the two layers of fabric. I have two pairs of these pants. I'm tall and lean and these fit me well. Can't find any other work pants like these.
Is there any other fit other than regular loose?
A shopper on Mar 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This pant is a relaxed fit, which is actually not our loosest fit. The loosest fit will be loose/original fit; relaxed is cut a bit closer to the body. The traditional fit pants are going to be even more fitted.
Do you know if these pants will ever be back in production ?
A shopper on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do not plan to do so at this time, but will be glad to share your interest with Product Design.
Is there another pair with a similar fit? I'm a skinnier guy and would like something just slightly snug like these.
Johnathan R on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The smallest fit that we offer for our work pants is a Relaxed fit. If you would like a fit that is smaller than the Relaxed fit, you may want to check out our Traditional fit. Unfortunately, that fit is only available for our Work Jeans. Please click on the following link to view the styles that are currently offered in a Straight Traditional fit.

Are any of these still available at this point? Bought a couple pair a few years back, my son and husband love them. The original fit are just too baggy for the work they do.
A shopper on Jan 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do have limited stock available: http://www.carhartt.com/products/Relaxed-Fit-Straight-Leg-Double-Front-Work-Dungaree-B361. We are glad they like the style and will share the comments with Product Design.
Why did you discontinue these? My slender son swears by this particular work pant and is extremely disappointed he can no longer get them. No other pant has ever fit him as well as these! Please, please bring them back!!!
Sad mom on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We apologize. The Series 1889 was a limited-run collection. We will be glad to share your input with Product Design, however.
When will you bring this pants back? If not please take them off the site. I check every few months to see If they are available and they never are, stop getting my hopes up that you brought the best pants back!
A shopper on Jan 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do not plan to bring them back in the near future, but share this type of feedback with Product Design. The pants are still on the site because we do still have stock left in certain sizes and colors. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Will these ever be back in stock? I've burnt out two pairs now (4 years filthy work), and would like to buy six more. Best pant ever. 30x32.

BEST ANSWER: We apologize, we do not plan to restock this item. Please contact us for further assistance.
Dear Carhartt, are the best pants you've ever made-- I would buy two more pairs right now. Please bring them back? Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: We will be happy to share your feedback with Product Design.
Why are these pants $20 more than the Loose/Original Fit Version? Why would Carhartt charge 40% more for the same product with LESS material?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This style is part of our exclusive 1889 Series and is considered street wear as well as work wear.
Why did Carhartt discontinue these pants? Are there plans to offer a similar slimmer fit double-front cotton duck work pant in the future?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We apologize that the color you are interested in has been discontinued. Typically when we discontinue an item, size or color it is due to lack of sales. Although an item may sell well in one region, if it does not do well nationwide we are forced to discontinue that item. We do plan to offer a new collection next year.
