This is a great backpack. A good size to take on a day hike in one of your state parks. Good size to stash all you need for a rock and roll concert. All around nice bag.

I bought this bag for nursing school, just to bring whatever I need to the hospital or classes and it works great! Not too bulky, fits exactly what I need. I also use it for hiking and camping and it is super durable.

1 swell water bottle (slim ~2.5in diameter)
3 pens (only pencil or bic pen fit in the slots)
1 RFID badge in the front pocket
Small wallet, 3oz hand lotion keys, ear phones & inhaler in the top pocket
1 20mA battery back
Sunglasses in case

Pretty impressed on what will fit in there, the jacket packs very flat. I don't think a mens hoodie would fit.

Everything about the design is great. I am very disappointed this is a synthetic fabric and not canvas. I would buy another if it was black or tan canvas.

The backpack is light weight and not bulky. Carrying this is much easier than most backpacks.

I wish it was the traditional Carhartt duck material. Nothing else bad to say. Other than the material it's exactly as I expected.

Im a diesel mechanic and it holds everything I need to take to work, It looks small at first but I was surprised at the amount of things I was able to put on the pack and still be comfortable. The only complaint is that I wish the pen pockets in the front where alittle wider not all

Yes, this is a 'compact' backpack...it is not big or bulky, a perfect size if you are looking for something smaller than the other backpacks in the lineup. Keeps things nice and dry inside. Very nice pack!

I use this for my landscaping job. It's great for carrying my lunch, pruning tools, water bottle. I wish the front pocket had a zipper to hold things securely.

My mini EDC bag. Like so far, but I'll fill in a few additional details.
- Front pocket is small; about the depth of the front zipper; perhaps 2-3". I have a small flashlight, tissues, and sanitizer in it with some room to spare. The things I prefer to have immediate access to.
- Main compartment has a thin divider attached the rear portion of the back; hence their reference to a tablet-sized device.
- The mesh water bottle pocket isn't mes, it's the same material. Not a downside, just a fact.
- Water bottle pocket fits a standard 16 ounce bottle - nothing bigger. No S'well, Nalgene, etc. That's okay though - the pack is small enough that a larger bottle would be awkward looking.
- front pen pockets are very tight - exactly what you'd expect by looking at their images.
- I got the wine colored option - and I was worried it would be a bit too bright, but I'm happy with the color. Yes - it's a faded purple, but doesn't stand out too much (IMO).
I expect plenty of miles out of this one.
