FR Duck Traditional Coat

Sadly I have to retire this coat after 30+ years. A lot of hard work has taken a toll. Zippers and Velcro still work. Otherwise, it's been thread worn for several years. Hard to let go. Can't wait until a replacement is in stock.

I really like this jacket. It's super warm, heavy, and durable. It starts to fit well after a wash or two and some use. However, my issue is with the jacket's hardware. First, the zipper is awkward to use and takes some time getting use to. Second, the waist drawstring is shoddy looking (I ended up removing it). Third, and most importantly, using Velcro straps in lieu of snap fasteners. They look incredibly tacky and always get it the way when zipping/unzipping. I wanted to remove these and install snap fasteners myself, but Carhartt doesn't sell replacement kits for them. I can't rack my brain around why they decided to skimp out on these features for a PPE jacket that retails for ~$300. If it weren't for these issues, I would have rated this jacket a 5/5.

Do not buy if you want to add the snap on hood later. After contacting Carhartt via chat I was told it is "Unavailable with no expected restocking date". Website description needs to have the hood option removed so no one is mislead by the false information.

Great jacket, use daily

Nice,warm coat. Length is great. Not sure why picture shows snaps but comes with velcro closure. We'll see how they hold up. Zipper a bit stiff and difficult to zip. But my husband loves the positive features so much he didn't want to return.
