Rugged Flex™ Relaxed Fit Canvas Coverall

I love these coveralls! It's such a relief to finally find high-quality workwear designed specifically for women. They provide great protection while I take on years of overgrowth-multiflora rose, porcelain berry, and plenty of other invasive plants. They did shrink slightly after a few washes, but that actually improved the fit and made them just right for me.

I wanted to love these so much! I have a pair of the men's small loose fit coveralls (model no. 0X5019-M) and they are my FAVORITE! I wear them all day in the shop. So comfortable. When I saw these women's coveralls were on sale, and in black, I knew I had to order them. I ordered a large and a medium. For reference I am a 5'7" 170lb female. The large were very very long in the crotch area, and it was really baggy from the waist down. So, I ordered a medium, and they did fit better, but it a very uncomfortable fit. I cannot move around comfortably in them, and there is really no stretch to them. I so wanted to love these, but will unfortunately have to keep looking for a new coverall set that I am comfortable in. Carhartt is still my go to brand, just bummed these didn't work out.

I'm 5'6"/36B/135lbs and purchased an extra small. I used to avoid buying women's Carhartt clothing because of how large even the smallest size would be on me. I've since resorted to other work oriented brands that accommodate smaller sizes for women, but when I saw these coveralls on sale I thought they looked cute yet functional so I wanted to try them. I was expecting these to be a little bit more form fitting on me, but they're not. They may appear to be so in the photos I'm providing, but the outside of the coveralls are still a good 2 inches away from each side of my body even with the tabs attached to the tighter setting. I'm going to have to take off one of the buttons and sew it inward so that I can adjust the tabs tighter, but as you can see in one of the photos, it makes the material super bunchy when I pull the tabs any tighter, which I'm just going to have to deal with because I don't want to feel like I look frumpy in these. I'm not a super small framed woman; I've been lifting weights at the gym for over 4 years now so I have some more muscle on me than I normally would, which is why I'm surprised the extra smalls are still slightly big on me. I remember back in the day when most women's clothing brands didn't accommodate larger sizes - I'm so glad that clothing fits more inclusively for all (if not most) body types nowadays. But in my experience, Carhartt has failed to provide more inclusive fitting for smaller framed women. I have lady friends who are in the work field that are even smaller than me and would love to have Carhartt jackets and bibs due to their reputation for being warm and high quality, but they have to go to another clothing competitor for something that fits them. I implore Carhartt to start providing size XXS! Deducted 1 star because of the fit; otherwise, they seem like good quality and they insulate my body well without making me too hot. Kinda wish they had the double knee panels on them, but I still like them regardless.
