How to Measure

Note: For best results measure over your undergarments. Use a cloth measuring tape.

measure women's pants

Natural Waist:

Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Hip/Seat:

Measure the fullest point between your natural waist and crotch.

Inseam:

Measure from your crotch down to the desired length on body. You may also measure pants that you currently own and like. Lay the garment flat and smooth out. Measure on the front from the crotch point along the seam to the hem for the inseam length.

Quality Has Dropped, Sizing is way off.
I have been buying this particular style from Carhartt for over 15 years, 5 pairs every 2 years for work. They have always been made well, and fit well, until this latest batch I bought, in which they cut corners, changed design, and potentially lost a long time customer, all for the sake of saving money. I wear a 30x34, and these are definitely not a 30" waist. The older style fit perfectly, wore comfortably throughout the day (I work in the construction industry). However, these are obviously NOT 30" waists, as they will fall down past my hips to my ankle without every undoing the button and zipper. The old pairs had 5 belt loops, the new ones have 7 or 8, which leads me to believe they have accidentally marked the wrong size on my new jeans, or quality control and cost-saving measures have taken what was once a perfectly good pair of work jeans and turned them into garbage. I am not the least impressed with them now.
