THE FUTURE IS IN OUR HERITAGE
HAVING YOUR BACK 24/7 SINCE 1889
In 1889, Hamilton Carhartt started making clothing for those who toiled in the most rugged conditions. Tough, durable, and comfortable gear. Built to earn the trust of the hardworking man and woman.
Carhartt considered every customer a friend. That’s why his products needed to be best in class, and sold at an affordable price. When someone bought an item with the Carhartt name on it, he wanted to make them proud. So everything he made had to live up to his own high standards.
Today, the same values live on in the over 5.000 members of the Carhartt family. While millions of hardworking men and women around the world make daily use of our durable, high-quality gear.
Gear that’s built to go wherever you go. Helping you through the best and worst conditions. Keeping you comfortable whether you’re working hard, facing the elements, or out and about enjoying them. Because Carhartt has your back, all day, every day, 24/7.
“CARHARTT WILL ALWAYS REMAIN THE BADGE OF A BETTER BUY TO THOSE WHO KNOW THE VALUE OF MONEY.”
- Hamilton Carhartt
JACKETS - EVERY STITCH HAS A PURPOSE
Born in 1917, the Carhartt Chore Coat has been with the brand for over a century. Known simply as ‘The Coat’ for the first several years, it made the change from being built in denim to the water-repellent and extra durable duck fabric. The coat’s signature corduroy collar was introduced in 1939.
Over the years Carhartt has produced many different coats in all kinds of configurations. But every Chore Coat still has one thing in common: They’re built to keep you warm, dry, and going no matter the circumstances.
PANTS - A LEG UP OVER ANY CHALLENGE
Carhartt’s legacy began by building overalls for America’s earliest railroad workers. People tough as nails doing equally hard work in need of heavy-duty protection. Soon, word spread of this hardworking, durable clothing. And Carhartt earned its place as the uniform of the hardworking man and woman.
Of course, Carhartt didn’t stop at making overalls. Early on the top part of the overalls were removed and dating back as far as 1900, Carhartt had up to 12 pants available in its catalogue. Today Carhartt continues to use the best and toughest materials to make the pants you can count on to work as hard as you do.
BOOTS - BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP
Our footwear has a long history of supporting hardworking men and women on and off the job. Dating as far back as 1929, Carhartt’s archive show ‘the Richard’ boot, a standard issue black boot worn by police officers at the time. Over the years our shoes have been a staple worn by firefighters, construction workers, farmers, and explorers of the great outdoors.
These days, with much more certification and protection being required for all types of work, all Carhartt work boots are S3 certified. All our workboots feature the latest in safety shoe technology, providing lightweight and flexibility, while still being fully capable of withstanding the toughest of conditions.
