This is the 3rd Carhartt jacket I've owned and I liked them all, but this is by far the best one I've had. The lining is very warm, the cut and fit are comfortable and flattering. My favorite feature is the collar, the lining extends up the collar and keeps the cold out so well, also adds to the stylish look of the jacket. The quality is what I've come to expect from Carhartt over the years, simply the best, built to last. I've never replaced a jacket due to wear and tear or it being unwearable, in fact I passed my old ones on to friends, I only replaced them because I wanted new ones.
I absolutely love this jacket. I had a similar jacket last season, but made by a competitor. I had to get a new one this season as I was 2 sizes smaller. I purchased the size small in the Merlot and couldn't be happier. It's feminine, without being obnoxiously girly. Even guys comment on it being a great version of the Carhartt for women (personally not a fan of the bright pink). I'm short (5"1') and about 140 pounds and find that Carhartt products are sometimes long on me, so I got the small and it fit perfectly. Not too long. The only thing is that it is slightly snug around my chest (C cup). The collar is amazing and cozy (I like the gray sherpa instead of the light color because it doesn't show make-up or accdiental food/drink spills). The hood easily snaps on and off and is not to big as it comes up and over your head, and covers your eyes - always a pain!
Highly recommend this jacket - I look forward to wearing it daily and for years to come!
I ordered the jacket in brown and in the photo the brown is lined with a white/cream sherpa, but mine came grey? The quality is good, but I definitely would not have bought this if I knew the brown came with a dark grey sherpa lining. Not sure why the photos do not show the actual color.
This jacket is the best. It's warm, comfortable, and well-made. The Sherpa lining, removable hood, multiple pockets, and overall appearance make it a perfect jacket for any outdoor activity. It's perfect for riding my horse!! It runs a bit large, but the XS fits me just right (5'2", 107) with plenty of room for layering. Mine is Carhartt Brown with dark gray Sherpa lining. The quilt-lined sleeve are easy to slip into and the Sherpa collar is warm and snuggly on my neck. Can't say enough good things about this jacket and I highly recommend it.
I was expecting this jacket to be much warmer than it is, but the Sherpa lining is just too thin. Definitely not what I was looking for during Wisconsin winters. I got a size small because I'm a size small/0 with everyday clothes, however being 5'8", the arm length was good when my arms were down but when I stuck my arms out the sleeves would go halfway up my forearms. Returning and getting both an active quilted jacket and this jacket in a size medium. I love the style of this jacket and the pockets, but the functionality just isn't there. If you're looking for a nice fall jacket this would be good but definitely wouldn't wear this outside in less than 20 degree weather. I'm not sure about its durability since I put it on and knew instantly it wasn't what I needed.
I bought this jacket because I needed something durable, but I am always cold, so the lined neck really appealed to me. The XS was out of stock online, so I had to go on a goose chase to find it and was able to special order it through a local farm store. When it arrived, I tried it on in the wind and rain and found that the collar did little to keep my neck warm as it doesn't close all the way. Why not have it zip all the way up? The website fails to show this feature as the collar is always sitting down in the photos, which is also never does. I found it annoying because it neither closes, nor sits right on my neck. Sadly, after looking forward to finally being able to wear this jacket, I will have to take it back to the farm store who so kindly special ordered it for me and find something else that satisfies my needs.
