Worked outdoors for my entire life and have always found CARHARTT products top notch: in fact "my first choice." Yet these suspenders leave a lot to be desired. The clips do not hold the elastic in place so they are constantly sliding defeating the purpose of suspenders. Not sure if the problem is with the clips or the elastic but the clips slide almost as soon as I move. Sorry for this feedback but very disappointed in this product.
Probably the best suspenders out there as I didn't have problems with the clamps coming off and hiting me in the head. The problem I have with them is I only owned them for a day and the clamp that's used to adjust the size. One has came apart and half of it is missing as it has fallen some where wher I can't find it. This is the first time a carhartt product has let me down.
I like the suspenders because of their width. Their more comfortable on the shoulder than thinner suspenders. Also, because they have a firm grip and I don't have to worry if they might slip off. It would be nice if they were offered with gold colored clips. Even thouoght I like the silver colored clips, a little variation would be nice.
Over the years I've had probably 20 pairs of Carhartt suspenders. They've all been very durable as well as comfortable. I only recently ran into a problem....the adjusters on the last two pairs just would not stay put. I was always having to tighten them up. Finally contacted Carhartt through their "Live Chat" online and spoke with "Maria". She handled my issue very nicely, and I have a great opinion of the Customer Service. All my other Carhartt stuff is great, too.....really good quality stuff is all I can say. Thanks again to "Maria".
I wear suspenders every day I would need to replace them every few months as the clips or elastic wore out. I now use Carhart brand and wear them for 2 or 3 times as long!! The clips and elastic last a LONG time and for many washes.
These suspenders won't slip out of place, lose their grip on your jeans, or alter themselves in anyway once you put them on and head out the door. No matter what work you do, these suspenders will do their job as required without you giving them another thought until you're ready to take them off. I hope Carhartt never stop selling them or we'll all be up a creek suspender-wise!
I actually have two pair of these suspenders. One I got as a gift. The other I bought online because I liked the first pair so much. My only complaint is that they are too short. Mine fit, don't get me wrong. But, the adjustment clip is at the very end of the suspender. I like my clips up where I can see them. Otherwise they're great. One look at them and you know that they're a quality pair of suspenders. They look like I spent a lot more on them than I did.
No matter the age or size of the man these suspenders keep the "butt crack" away. Without digging into their shoulders. I have bought many pairs and they are the best. Holds their shape even when washed and the "grippers" hold and never slide. Best money you can spend for the product.
I have to agree with the other reviews, the suspenders clips should stay put a lot better and not loosen as the do and the metal clips to the pants can come off at the most inappropriate times. I've never wore suspenders but with age and the fat belly I found a need for an alternative solution, the belt wasn't cutting any longer for whatever reason, slipping, slipping and more slipping but they're great when behaving as expected. tom mcintyre
I have two pair and generally like them but the clips do unexpectedly come undone. They are still the widest most comfortable made but I would have to tell anyone asking how I like them that they do have the snap problem.
These were good well made suspenders about ten years ago, which was about the age of my old set until they finally stretched out. The 2 new pair that my wife recently bought me as a Christmas present haven't lasted me one month. Both pair of suspenders are now completely useless because of the CHEAP adjustment clips. At first they didn't hold when initially adjusted and then after multiple attempts to readjust them, they completely fall apart into two pieces. CHEAP! CHEAP !CHEAP!
