These pants are not sized correctly.
I bought these pants as I work on a boat and figured the water shedding properties and windproofness would be great for the job. They've been sitting in my locker waiting for the temps to cool down here in the northeast. Today proved to be the perfect day. I threw them on and we shoved off.

The workmanship in these pants is exactly what you'd expect from Carhartt. They look awesome. Every pant from Carhartt I own is a 33x30, including some in this "relaxed" fit. The legs are a little relaxed, but the waist and crotch have less room than any of my casual jeans in a 32x30. I can't move in these pants. Other notable discrepencies, the cell phone pocket goes past the knee so every time I take a step I can feel my phone. How are they a field pant? Now that I'm stuck in them for a trip and I've taken the tags off will I be able to return them? What am I going to do with a pair of pants that don't fit? How are they so different than every other pant I own in the same size? For now, I need to figure out how I'm gonna get back up the stairs and what I'm gonna do with these $80 pants.

Review made by the wife!
My husband's birthday is Thursday, and I don't have to think twice about what to get. The kids and I will be shopping at our new, local (and awesome) Carhartt store to get another pair of these pants! I have the hardest working man out there, and for him to praise these pants as much as he has....well. Trust me. Two highlights I have heard about (more than once): the "cell phone pocket". He never wants to go without it again. In fact, there's many pockets. Very handy for a man with tools. And they passed the test with flying colors for water repellent. After a morning of saving our elderly neighbors patio awning from collapsing with snow, he came in dry. It's hard to get rave reviews from my husband. He can always improve on a design. But these pants scored big! Totally worth the $$. And he looks good in them. A score for me. :)

They have the look!
I just got these and tried them on yesterday. As advertised they are a field pant. I am sure they can handle well and look great out in the field. I always tuck my shirt in, and wear a belt. It has that professional rugged look you would expect from Carhartt. The only thing I don't like about these pants as was mentioned in another review is the cell phone pocket. It is positioned low behind the knee. While it looks great in that position, the draw back is when you bend the knee you will feel it. I'm worried I may even crush my phone. It does feel uncomfortable hitting you behind the knee every-time you squat. For that reason I gave it three stars for comfort.

Couldn't recommend highly enough
Bought these for a pheasant hunt, as all the guys in our group had, and mine were without a doubt the toughest, best looking and lowest price. These are compared to under armour and cabelas premium "instinct" line. I bought them for hunting and they've now replaced my favorite work pants. They are very tough at first but break in well with lots of wear. Im a 33W 34L and these fit true to size if you wear them at your natural waist.

Great Pants
Just returned from a 4 day hunt in Mitchell, SD. These pants worked great. Only complaint was I am usually a 36" waist and these ran small in the waist. Ended up needing a 38" waist. They are a little snug in the thighs but wasn't an issue. Length fit is very true. I would easily buy another pair of these if for some reason they didn't last forever.

Are these quilt lined?
Henri D on Dec 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No. They are fairly light weight. Warmer temperatures. I have several pairs. I live in Texas so they work great for me.
What is the source of this product?
A shopper on Aug 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This product is imported.
Why don't you make them for women?
Mike S on Dec 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We are always working on our women's line and your feedback is appreciated. We have forwarded your request to our product team as a suggestion. We apologize that we do not meet your needs at this time.
Please make this in more colors?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We appreciate your feedback and will forward your suggestion to our Product Design Team for future consideration.
How thick are the chaps? What are they made of? I have an old pair of carhartt upland pants that are thick and heavy and can't feel a single pricker in the north woods of northern michigan. I need something that will hold up.
A shopper on Jan 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The chaps are made of Carstrong, which is our proprietary tough nylon material. It is not a thick fabric, but it is highly durable.
Are there plans to make these in a flannel-lined option?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not at this time, but we will share your feedback with Product Design.
will these pants shrink any?
warren j on Dec 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As long as you follow the care instructions, any shrinkage should be minimal - no more than 2-4% over the life of the garment.
Why don't you make these pants in waist sizes 44 and bigger? Don't you know there's men who are large?
Chris on Nov 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We apologize this style is not offered in the size you are interested in. We appreciate your feedback and will forward your suggestion to our Product Design Team for future consideration.
are these a relaxed fit?
A shopper on Aug 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is relaxed fit, which is closer to the body in the seat/thigh area than the loose/original fit.
