I've been buying these for about over 10 yrs. now. The last 4 pair that I purchased in December 2014 all developed holes on inside top corner of rear pockets. Causing them to rip out prematurely. I have always been very happy with this product.
Very comfortable jeans but all 5 pair I own have torn out at the upper corners of back pockets within a month of owning them.very frustrating! Please fix this flaw. Everything else about them is great.
Wore B18 for years then they changed. Now have brown pockets. Bought 4 pairs every pair split within 3 months either at back pockets or from zipper down. Completely ruined. Old ones lasted 2 years. Never again
bought 3 pairs on 2 separate occasions in the past year. Fit is good, very comfortable. The problem is that of the 6 that I bought, in the past 2 months, 4 of them have ripped in the same spot, by the back pocket in the upper corner. They then have proceeded to rip out along the pocket all the way up to the waistline. Poorest quality jeans that I have ever had. Have had to throw all 4 pairs away, non-fixable.
Have brought Carhartt jeans for years. The jeans will wear out first at the inside top of the back pockets where the pocket attaches to the seat. Have for years now. Other than that these are great jeans.
Have been wearing for about 5 years after a hassle with Levis over poor quality,I was buying them at Cabelas but they discontinued the style I wear, their loss, best jeans I have found, keep up good quality and you have a customer for life.
I've been buying these for about 6 yrs. now. The last 4 pair all developed holes on inside top corner of rear pockets. Causing them to rip out prematurely. In my opinion. Shame to trash jeans that don't look worn at all hardly expect for rear pockets ripping out. For heavyweight jeans I usually get outstanding wear. Maybe I got a bad batch. They had brown pockets. If that makes a difference I doubt it. Will try comfort fit next.
Quality not like it used to be. I've had the same issues as others, holes forming at back pocket area and tears at crotch. I've been wearing carhartt traditional since 1991. I've put up with lesser quality for a few years now, but not anymore. The ones with brown pocket lining are definitely poor in quality.
When I first thought about buying Carhartt jeans... I was a little hesitant to be completely honest.
I knew Carhartt Jackets and coats were the best I've owned as were the double front logger jeans... but regular jeans? The famous brand I have always purchased fit well and looked good... so why change?
Price was my first problem. How could Carhartt sell an equal product for less? Hah, what a fool I was.
Not only are the Carhartt jeans equal, but the stitching, fit, material grade, and fit far exceed my old brand.
Will I purchase Carhartt in the future? You Bet I will!
If you're like I was... fear not! Go ahead buy them. You'll be glad you did.
Finally, I have found jeans that not only stand up to my son's activities but they fit him well, too. We purchased two pair over the summer at a retailer and were so impressed that when we needed an additional pair we ordered direct.
I bought these about a year ago and decided to hold off on writing a review. These, of all other jeans I've tried, have the best fit ever! I like the traditional fit, that slims down the ankle; I don't like it when my jeans drag on the floor and these were perfect (15.75 leg opening). BUT, the fit is different between the Stonewash and Darkstone. Not sure if it was the batch I got, but the Stonewash was relaxed around the thigh and the slims down through the ankle; Darkstone wasn't like that whatsoever. More tighter around the thigh. I'm 5'11", about 66kg, size 31x32. The previous reviewer, who had a problem with the back pockets, I too, have the same problem, but it took almost 5-7 months for it to show some wear. For me, it was between the butt, right beside the stitching of the back pocket. After a year of hard, everyday use, there's also a small hole underneath my crotch area. Make them more durable Carhartt, cause these jeans are the best I've ever worn!
I have to say, I have always worn Levis to work in but, The carhartt jeans are the bomb. Also I am in that strange need of waist fit and carhartt offers the odd waist size. I ride a motorcycle and the comfort is outstanding, anyone who rides will tell you a good fit for riding is very important. THANKS CARHARTT
If you're looking for a great fitting, long lasting and stylish jean then the B18 is it. It's rugged enough for work and great looking in stonewash for casual wear. Consistant in waist, length and color each time I buy online, it's just a great pair of jeans everytime.
I have a ten year old who grows like a weed (he wears a 29-30) and is incredibly hard on his clothes, and I have wasted countless dollars on jeans that didn't fit well and wore out before he outgrew them. He loves these, as their cut and fit is extremely comfortable, they have plenty of room without looking messy and they last forever. He got two seasons out of last year's pairs!
These have excellent fasteners, reinforced stitching on pocket corners and other vulnerable areas and a fantastic, traditional fit. They look amazing and wear like iron. Highly recommended!
These jeans are made with extra rugged denim yet are very comfortable. The seams are double stitched. It is gratifying to see this level of workmanship and high quality materials being used to make blue jeans the old way. Forget the jeans with the leather label picturing two mules pulling the pants apart. These jeans can actually withstand that kind of treatment, and they have all seven belt loops. These days poor quality often hides behind designer status to boost profits. If you are hard working and value good old fashinoned quality, Carhartt IS your designer status.
I am 6' and 200 pounds. I bought the 36 x 32 Traditional fit jeans. Good fit. I walk from 3-7 miles a day, and when I'm not walking I drive up to 400 miles a week. So I walk and sit a lot. It's been about 2 months and the back of the jeans by the pockets is starting to let go. I will try to get them patched, other wise they will turn into a donation at a local charity.
I was hoping for a pair of heavy duty jeans for bad weather outdoor wear. Fit was definitely on the very slim side. I have an athletic build so was surprised that they were this snug. Would try a looser fit in the future. Unfortunately they were no heavier than what I can get at the mall. I returned them, but might try again in the summer when I need warm weather jeans.
My comments mirror the rest of those on poor quality. Quality issues with the last eight pairs. Crooked twisted leg seams, look funny and uncomfortable. New style brown zippers are rough and do not work smoothly. The fit is now baggier, more like a relaxed fit. Had two pair that ripped along the back pockets. Denim quality is not the same. I still have B18 's that are six years old and still look good for their age and wear. Have purchased Carhartt for over 40 years and the quality has definitely declined. Really disappointed. Will not be purchasing again. Ditto for henleys, long sleeve tees, and flannel shirts from Carhartt.
Just purchased 4 pair for Christmas Gift and one pair have gold/brown pocket lining. Why? Selected No will not recommend, since this is first purchase and have not had time to evaluate the product. Out of box, they look good and fit well.
OK, I rarely write reviews and this review was not solicited. However, I just have to say that these jeans are the quality you would see 25-30 years ago before the major brands starting cutting corners. THIS should be the standard for all Mens jeans. I just wanted a real pair of thick, quality made jeans that are comfortable. That's EXACTLY what I got. I hope to get 10-20 years out of these jeans. A steal for the price.
