What has changed?
I am a heavy equipment operator and have wore carhartt B137 and B237 pants for years. I'm still wearing some of my 137's today. They have held up like no other through the years. What did you change? In the last year I had bought 4 pair of 237's, right off I noticed the brown pockets. I made sure I was buying the same pant that I have for years. Numbers match but quality sure doesn't!!!! As I see in other posts people are noticing the back pockets are ripping. I now have a lot of dollars wrapped up in pants that have fallen apart. The only reason that I pay extra for your clothes is they have been proven to last. I've worn your products for over 30 years and for the first time I'm considering other brands. It's very disappointing to see the quality of what I've considered the best product go down the drain.

Quality control failure?
Carhartt style B237 is the only pair of pants that has ever lasted me 2 years. They have been phenomenal, and I have been happy to standardize on them. Unfortunately, my confidence has been shaken. The pair I purchased in January of 2015 has already torn at the upper corners of the rear pockets, and they are falling apart quickly in that area. These are the pants with brown fabric in the front pockets that many other reviews report as falling apart in the same area. This is a serious quality control issue, and is likely the result of changing a supplier or manufacturing process. I am not certain I would trust another set of these pants at this point.

Disappointed
I have wore the same style B237 for many years now. I recently bought 6 new pair to replace my previous ones that lasted over 2 1/2 years and found they are not the same as the old ones. They don't feel as heavy and durable as the old ones and since I bought them 3 months ago 4 pair of them have ripped out or fallen apart in the upper corners of the back pockets and 1 of them just ripped apart in the crotch.

I ordered 3 pairs of these pants right after Christmas. When they arrived at my house I was more than pleased to see that Carhartt has gone back to the old style white pocket material. Time will tell if these hold up as well as the old pants. I know the pants I had with the brown material were junk!

Finally Pants That Fit!!
These pants are the BEST fit I have ever had.
I have a large waist and all other pants have not fit correctly and failed prematurely due to stress. These are cut just right and are holding up better than the more expensive brands.

Not like they used to be
I had a couple of these a couple of these for almost six years before they started getting holes. I bought a new pair about 4 months ago to replace them. Not only were they three inches too long, the back pockets started to rip after a month and the crotch started to fray open. I figured maybe I got a bad egg so I bought two more cause I was running out of pants and these are the ones that fit me the best. One pair had one leg that was too long, the other were short. Once again the pockets are starting to rip. I don't know what happened to Carhartt but they have seriously fallen in quality.

Sizing was off
I wear a lot of carhartt pants. These 32 X 32 were sized wrong. The waist on two pair were closer to a 34 than a 32 and the inseam was a little over 33 not 32.

I always buy 3 to 5 pairs at a time and they would usually last 2 to 3 years. The last 5 pair I bought in march of 2015 . So far 2 pairs have ripped in the same place along the right rear pocket to the waist. This is september 2015.
Been wearing Carhartt for years.

Qualiity drop
I have worn the B237 dungarees for years and always had very good luck with them until about the last year. I have bought around 8 pair and the crouch has ripped out on 4 out of the 8 pair. I noticed they changed the pockets to a light brown color and the fabric doesn't feel as heavy. These are the ones I have had trouble with. The ones before that would last for years without getting tears and I never had any of them rip out the crouch. I want to wear these jeans but if they only last a couple of months, they aren't worth having. Carhartt, please go back to the old ways!!!

What happened to the quality, sturdy, brown original fit dungarees that the Fish and Wildlife Service used to buy for their employees?
A shopper on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, we are not sure what style the Fish and Wildlife Service used for their employees. However, if you are interested in a brown, sturdy original fit dungaree you may be interested in our Style# B11 which is made of 12 ounce, 100% cotton ring-spun washed duck. If you are interested in a lighter material for the summer weather we suggest our Style# B159 which is made of 8.5 ounce, 100% cotton ring-spun canvas or our style# B151 which is made of 7.5 ounce, 100% cotton ring-spun canvas.
