These modern-looking 1889 straight-fit jeans look and fit great on me (so I've been told). I bought both available colors. I'm 6'2, 190 with long lean legs and these are perfect for me. I would definitely call them a straight fit with a somewhat slim fit in the seat and thigh. Not skinny jeans though, thankfully. Most regular type of Carhartt products are baggy. The FORCE products are the ones that fit me best because they are more fitted than the regular/original fit which I find to be baggy. In other brand jeans I normally I wear 32x36 but in these I'm a 31x34. The 34" is more like 35" which is great since I'm always between sizes with my length. Not baggy at all and the denim material appears solid, not paper thin. Carhartt products are tough and these are no exception. Order several pairs in several different sizes to better find your true fit.
Yes, I am almost positive they will fit over logger boots. I do not own logger boots, but I have wore them with both pull on western work boots and lace up steel toe boots, that are 8 inches tall. There was plenty of room for both. Hope that helps.
