A couple years ago you offered these jeans in a "regular straight leg fit". I loved them! They were also offered in a size 2. When I tried to purchase them last year they were unavailable. How are you suppose to get your boots inside the slim fit jean? If I wanted "fashion jeans" I have a million choices. Why not serve the people that are actually using them for work??
I bought a pair of these pants three months ago to give them a 'test run'. I teach mushroom foraging and identification, and am constantly bending over and on my knees out in the forest either on my own for research or taking people out on field trips. They have gotten me through the spring season with flying colors and I have just purchased two more pairs to assure I'm set throughout the summer and fall.
Why I love them: - Well fitted waistline makes it easy to bend over, squat and crawl in the dirt without having to do the 'pull your pants back up shuffle' when done, plus no worries about foliage getting down inside the waistline. - Lighter weight so long distances hiking or warmer weather isn't a challenge - Double layer front protects my knees and don't show signs of significant wear (which is saying a lot for how frequently I abuse this feature) - Side pocket with loop is perfect for my knife, other side pocked fits my phone snugly - Slim legged so no extra bulk and slim ankles means less brambles and sticks sneaking up my pant legs - They make me look good, I wear them when I film footage for my foraging videos and love how I feel and look in them (compliments on how I look when I crawl through the dirt are always nice).
I also appreciate that they come in size 2, I would say they fit a little big to the average size 2 but fit right on par with Carhartt's sizing.
To sum these pants up: Durability and functionality meets comfort and style.
I love these pants!!! I'm a short and at the moment a little on the heavier side so had to order a 4 instead of my usual smaller sizes. These pants are especially awesome when I help volunteer taking care of 20+ toddlers, the knees get used a lot!!! The reason I'm writing this review is so that CARHARTT will know that the short smaller sizes should still be made/continued. The quality is great, the durability is great, I love the look, size is perfect for a short-4 (I'm 5'2'', 130lbs) and really hoping the smaller sizes will be available again once I need them. I disagree in another review that the calf portion of the leg was too big; seriously tired of twig designs for adult women!!! I'm personally not fat nor stout but yet have a women's body, aka curves not twig and that IS the case whether I'm a size 0 or size 4.
The only recommendation would be to offer more darker denim colors.
I'm a welder and enjoy wearing these jeans they are not as hardy as the canvas pants however if you want to wear jeans that are styled the same but are nicer looking and a bit more comfortable these are great. They won't last as long as canvas jeans. I call them my designer logger jeans.
I bought two pair of these pants at the same time and rotated through them during the work week (usually got 2 or 3 wearings before washing) for about 4 months. These pants were super comfortable (LOVE the stretch), had good coverage, and looked better than any other jean I've been able to find. I was surprised I fit into a "slim" fit, as I have extremely muscular thighs and calves. They do get baggy with wear, so I recommend buying a size or two smaller than you're used to. I bought these pants for the double front, which proved to be plenty durable. Unfortunately, both pairs of pants blew out in front, with tears in the single-thickness areas near the grommets at the front of the upper thighs. I suppose that was the trade off with a lighter-weight (extremely comfortable in summer) pant that isn't too big (i.e., perhaps super loose-fitting pants wouldn't tear)?
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this purchase...probably, if I hadn't forked over full-price for them, I feel pretty great about their value. But at full-price, these "work" pants should last a longer. (BTW, other than the blown out fronts, these jeans had a lot more life in them).
You can't have hips to wear these pants. I had to go a few sizes up just to be able to fit into them, and I'm not a heavy girl, I'm just a woman and have hips like a woman. When I finally could get them on they were soo tight on my hips and thighs, but baggy around the waist and SUPER baggy and unattractive from my knees down. I am so bummed. I have been looking for a pair of utility pants because I need them for work, and you guys are one of the only companies out there that makes them for women, and so I am very disappointed that they do not fit. I know some women out there have different body types and so these are probably fine for them, but please start making a pair of utility pants that fit curves, and are slim at the ankles and I will buy them!
These pants are amazing I work in construction and I need pants that when I bend over they do not show my backside but at the same time I need pants that are fashionable and look amazing these pants fit both those categories they look absolutely fantastic and are very flattering. I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and the size 10 regular fits me perfectly I am a woman who has curves and these pants accentuate my curves perfectly they also have deep front pockets and deep side pockets which are great I am able to fit my cell phones for work to Leatherman's my wallet chapstick and my knife with plenty of room left these are very durable pants the stitching is very well done and they are made with quality and good fabric I will be purchasing probably 10 more pairs of these jeans next week please do not ever stop making them!!!!!
These pants fit true to size. I am a size 6, 135lb. Alaskan gal and was excited to see the improvements Carhartt is making towards women's pants. I originally ordered one size smaller due to review recommendations, but found this style is actually true to size. Had no trouble returning/exchanging them and shipping was FAST. The material is very thin and, other than the double fabric along the front of the leg/knee, I don't expect these to last very long :-( The material is very stretchy and loosens up throughout the day. Maybe as Carhartt continues to redesign their pants for women they will finally just make the strong, durable, good-looking men's pants with more room in the butt and a shorter rise from crotch to top of zipper/button enclosure -- these are still too high by about 2". One strange thing--These denim pants have a very odd, mothball-like odor. I ordered some overalls and some dungarees as well and those did not have this unpleasant odor. Hopefully it will wash out over time and with wear. Yuck.
First and foremost I was very excited to see a product like this offered by Carhartt. The style of pants not only is conducive for my job, but my lifestyle as well. Online they looked durable, had the double knee, and seemed to be tight fitting enough that they wouldn't get in the way. I ordered my normal size, considering it was the smallest size they had and of course was pleased when they initially fit, but had some wiggle room...unfortunately wiggle room when spandex is woven into fabric makes for very baggy pants at the end of one wear. I have known that Carhartts bag out from previous purchases, but these were the baggiest by far, and I wish they offered a smaller size, or true to size fits rather. I feel that the size two fits more like a size six. I also feel that I'm already wearing out the double knee, I wish that the denim was tougher. Overall I love these jeans when I first pull them out of the dyer, but after a day of work there is no way I can wear them again. I do receive a lot of compliments on them, and if you're looking for something more stylish than durable then these are perfect,
These pants are amazing. I own other canvas pants and jackets from Carhartt. They tend to not be that comfortable because there's no stretch. They also lose their color very quickly and look worn out after a season.
I bought these pants, along with the double front slim canvas pants in January. I've been wearing both through the season, it's now September. The canvas pants are already losing their color and feel very hot and not comfortable to wear in the hot, humid sumer. These jeans are so comfy, versatile, rugged, and they're not even losing their color! They also are nice because the slim leg looks much more feminine on me than the regular straight leg, and so I actually still feel like a female when I wear these jeans, a plaid shirt, and blunnies.
As a farmer, my clothing gets thrashed. Regular jeans rip almost immediately. I hope these continue to hold up for next year, but they could be stronger, so I'm going to purchase another pair since they're the best of what I've been able to find. Another bonus: I'm super tall and most jeans do not have high enough a rise. These are great for keeping your butt crack well beyond covered.
i HAD THE WOMENS DOUBLE FRONT JEANS THAT i PURCHASED OVER SIX YEARS AGO, GOOD WORK PANTS BUT THEY MADE MY REAR LOOK HUGE BUT THESE PANTS ARE MUCH MORE FASHIONABLE. THE DENIM IS NOT AS THICK BUT i THINK THEY WILL BE FINE. THEY LOOK GREAT. CAN NOT FIND THEM IN ANY STORES SO FAR
wear them every day--wish they came in 100% cotton
I've had a pair for two years that is still holding up--although the cotton/spandex fabric allows for some stretch, I WISH that these were offered in 100% cotton, either denim or duck. Those would be the best pants in the whole world! The cotton/spandex fabric is not as durable as 100% cotton, and the butt area gets saggy between washes...Carhartt, please make these in 100% denim or duck--you will not be able to keep them on the shelf!
I love these jeans, but I bought the size I normally wear, and they stretched out about a size and a half! I suggest getting a size or two smaller than you normally wear. Otherwise, these are great jeans!
These are my favorite work pants. They are lighter and more flexible than the canvas so climbing in and out of scissor lifts and folding into a ball for those tight corners is easy and comfortable. I wear mine 4 out of my 5 day week which may have to do with my durability rating. I'm definitely ordering more.
Thank you for finally making a women's Jean with pockets that are more then an inch deep. I own the grey, green and dark denim in this style of pant. Please come out with more washes. These pants are slim fitting but at the same time comfortable. Hands down favorite pants.
Best work pants EVER. I work in construction and these are the only pants I buy! I'm 5'5" 125lbs and the 2 fits perfect. Durable AND a modern cut that doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing my grandfathers pants??? Wow. Thanks carhartt for killing the women's workwear game. The multiple pockets work awesome and allow me to now wear an annoying tool belt when I don't have to. Yes!
I love these pants. I am 5'7, 130 lbs and order the size 4 regular and they're quite loose, I do it on purpose since I wear long johns to work in northern canada. My inseam is 30 and I normally wear a 6/26 in "normal" store pants. They're loose, not the greatest denim quality (too thin to be considered a proper work pant) but they have loads of side pockets and fit inside my rubber boots or outside my construction boots so they work for me.
I bought these thinking that they would be a slim fit. They fit comfortably around the waste, but they are a much looser leg than I expected. I will keep them because they are comfortable, but I'm not really impressed by the fact that they aren't really very slim at all. If you want slim and stylish, I don't think these jeans deliver.
