They are made to last, I use them for out door landscaping work and other out side hard working conditions . I just bought a new pair dark brown , The pair that I have been using are 3 years old and I just tore a hole in the double knee outer layer . but still for what I do for a living I say thats not to bad ! thank goodness for the the double knee . I only wish Carhartt had not discontinued the Green coveralls . It would be great if they made patches out of the same material for the outer layer double knees . Anyway I give Carhartt clothing a big two thumbs up .
My Sandstone Bib Overalls are perfect for me in every way. Comfortable and durable, long lasting, as all their products are. I've been wearing Carhartt work clothes for years and I always get my money's worth. I would not buy work clothes from any other company, with Carhartt you get what you pay for.
About 30 years ago, I grew tired of hiking up my pants every 2 minutes while working on different jobs. To keep my pants up, I'd either have to make my belt so tight that it was uncomfortable or wear suspenders. Anyway, it was around then that I thought I'd give bib overalls a try and I've worn them on my jobs ever since. As for comfort and practicality they cant be beat. Lots of useful pockets and a couple of tool loops come in handy as well. Over the yearsI also found that Carharrt is the best maker of work wear clothing bar none. Some of my Carharrt bib overalls are almost 10 years old and they are still going strong.
I've owned the same pair of bibs since the 8th grade and am now 22. They've been used on the farm, work, hunting, or just playing around. I still have yet to wear these things out. They're comfortable, durable, warm, and most of all VERSATILE!! I am a female and I only wish that Carhartt would make these same bibs for females!! I'd make a perfect poster child lol
Okay, people we should have read the reviews and looked at the sizing chart before ordering!! My husband ordered overalls in a 34, which is his normal pant size. Ha! A little too tight in the waist and backside. So the the sizing chart which recommended a larger size or two over the waist size is correct. Please, don't make the same mistake. He now has the bib overalls in a 36 and he lives in them. They are very well constructed and comfortable. He is very pleased with this purchase & so am I. Happy Wife, Happy Husband!
My husband drives a truck hauling propane and these overalls not only stand up to his wear and tear but also keep him warm on those cold days. These overalls have proven themselves over and over again. They last forever and are comfortable for the days that seem like they will never end. I would recommend these to anyone. They are the best overall out there.
I originally bought the bibs in the same size as the pants that I wear. The bibs fit, but they weren't the loose, extra comfortable bibs that I wanted, so I returned them. I then re-ordered a pair in my original length and several sizes larger in the waist, I love'em. Buy them from Carhartt, way more options of sizes than from other retailers who sell Carhartt.
I use these overalls in conjuction with the Sandstone Detroit Blanket Lined Jacket. They are great for wearing in the fall in the woods; cutting down trees, clearing trails, and setting up for out annual Haunted Hayride. These overalls keep me warm and protected as I trek through the briars and brush in the woods. Pair these with the formentioned jacket and a good pair of Logger style boots and you'll be well prepared for the woods in the fall.
I bought these for my boyfriend's use. He is always working around the house and is hard on clothes. These bibs hold up well, and he wears them till they get holes in them. We get him a new pair, and he wears the old ones for the real dirty jobs till they fall apart.
These are great coveralls. I have tried the competion and I was disapionted. I use these coveralls every day and they have great durabilty and confort. Carhartt is the place for me. Shipping was just as promised delivered to my door.
I bought a pair for work, then a second , and a pair for home and then a second. These bibs are great for climbing in and out of equipment, digging in the dirt, working in the shop, mowing the field, and restoring cars. the only complaint I have is that the cuffs wear out quickly, but I hemmed than up a bit and no more problems. yet another great Carhartt item.
This person is part of our Field Testing program and may have received this product for free. We operate one of the most rigorous field testing programs in the business.
These are the best overalls I have ever owned. I work hard for my money and I don't want to throw it away on an inferior garment. That's why I only wear Carhartt. I know these overalls will last for a long time no matter how hard I work in them.
I bought these as a gift for my workaholic husband... the only thing that we found wrong was the wide legs. Once they were taken in they were great! Keeps him nice and warm on the port too! A great buy!
My husband loves the overalls all except for the strap hooks- surely you've received other complaints about them! They are just too small and get stuck halfway undone when pulling them on or off- the stretchy section on the straps is wonderful because he pulls the overalls on and off several times a day, and can't be bothered with undoing and doing those little hooks. They are troublesome for him and I will have to stitch the straps in place so that he doesn't have to use the hooks at all. The old fashioned hooks would be preferable- I will search for them. Otherwise they are great overalls!
Let me tell you my story. During the storms of 2005 in the Gulf of Mexico my family and I had to evacuate. Leaving Beaumont, Texas in a small caravan of several vehicles we made it to Longview, Texas after 13 hours. Not a pleasant trip to say the least. During our stay in Longview, and not having or wanting to deplenish our funds, I stopped a local church resale shop. As I needed to at least get a temporary job, I was looking for work clothing. An older man approached me and we started talking about my families situation. He wished me luck and left, or so I thought. He returned shortly with a pair of green overalls. He said he had purchased these 10 years before, but had never worn them because they were to big. He had been procrastinating, so he never took them back or donated them. They were just my size at the time. Wow, God is good. A brand new pair of coveralls. I have worked hard in the overalls doing all kind of projects from gardening to remodels. The quality of this project is above the mark that is set by many companies of today. Thank you for keeping you high standards. I called today to attempt to get replacement hooks for the R06 coveralls. Wish me luck. If I can get replacement clips, I may be able to pass these down to my son.
They do not shrink at all. I have two pair of the sandstone overalls that I wear to work every day in all but the hottest months and I wash them about twice a week. This summer has been so hot I have been wearing the lighter weight Washed Denim overall. I have to wash these after every shift as they are completely soaked with sweat. Same answer , they do not shrink.
No they do not. I ordered mine off the sizing chart they had and wished I had got one size bigger. They do no factor in the slight beer belly that I have and it is a little tight around the belly. But it has not shrunk.
