After suffering an accident that permanently injured my spinal cord, I was dismayed to learn that one of the functions that no longer worked as expected in my body was my perception of hot and cold, as in weather temperatures. I had always been one to wear minimal outer protection, even in winter, in exchange for freedom of movement. After the accident it all changed and I found that even in summer I could be comfortable wearing a light jacket and long sleeved shirts. I always dreaded winter because I felt frozen for the duration . . . until now! I have just discovered Carhartt's flannel lined jeans. I bought a pair, the sizing was right on the button, and haven't wanted to wear any other brand of jeans since! The flannel really adds a substantial layer to my warmth strategy. These pants are so substantial that when washed, a wet but thoroughly spun out pair will still tip the scales at between five & ten lbs.! Most importantly, they warm me. Thanks Carhartt. This is the best "medical device" I have ever bought!
Observations: Lining stays put and does not creep around inside the garment as some lined pants do. Also, drying in a gas or electric dryer is significantly aided by turning the pants inside-out before putting them in to dry.
I own four pairs of these flannel lined jeans. Once October hits here in the Northwest, I need these pants to keep me warm from those cold wet winter days here in the Seattle area. These jeans are comfortable and durable. What else are you looking for in making a purchase? You won't regret buying them but will end up being a repeat customer after you wear them on a cold winter day.
I've been wearing these jeans every winter for the last few years and they show no signs of wear. They wash up very well. They are warm enough for my area (pacific northwest) that I gave away my bulky ski pants for outdoor cleanup chores. My only complaint is that I got them before the woman's line came out at my local store and the waist does not fit me very well. But since they will probably last forever, I'm not complaining. Next purchase: Rain gear!
I bought these for the winter months where I live in New England. I wear them snowmobiling and to work and they keep me nice and warm! Best fiting, and feeling jeans I have had in a long time. Not to mention that they are over a year old now and look like new still!
I own two different competitor products of "lined" jeans. These do not measure up. They are true to size and quite comfortable, but they do NOT keep me warm like the others out of doors. The flannel lining is thin and is inadequate for cold outdoor use. I am returning them and sticking with brand X.
I have been regular jeans for decades, always get them a specific size and wear them until something breaks (loops, back pocket tack, knees bust out). Big fisherman, yard work, rough and tumble (not bad for 68 years! I love jeans. I have never worn jeans with flannel liners before and I'm getting old enough to notice the effects of cold weather. I am elated! Wore them yesterday for the first time and loved them right away!!! My legs have been warm ever since I put them on! Here in Wisconsin that's important! I highly recommend them. Only problem - watch pocket (5th) is too short and too narrow - have problems putting my cell phone in them and only half of it goes in the pocket. Otherwise, can't beat them. Old Timer
I ordered a pair of these, and after a couple of weeks ordered another pair. On my casual days, this is what I wear when the temps outside are under freezing. Period. They are comfortable, have a nice, quality look to them (if a relaxed look,) and are exceptionally effective in keeping out the cold. If the roads are clear and the temps are 30 or above, I wear these on my motorcycle and even that is comfortable. Great pant.
They do run a little loose, and they do run a little long. Interesting that the photo shows the pant leg rolled up into a cuff. That's exactly how I end up wearing them.
Excellent Craftsmanship. These are rugged and warm. Excellent purchase if you spend your time in the outdoors. You will not regret it. I have 3 pairs of these jeans. These are great for late fall and winter. Saves on having to wear that extra layer of insulated underwear. Although for extra warmth during the below zero temperatures they would go good with a pair of insulated underwear.
I own three pair of Carhartt insulated jeans, two of flannel lined and one pair of fleece lined. I wear them all winter. They last longer than other jeans and I will buy them again and again. I would recommend them to a friend.
How does anyone know how the men's sizing compares to the women's sizing? Im looking at a size 28 waist (RELAXED FIT JEAN - STRAIGHT LEG/FLANNEL MEN'S RELAXED FIT) compared to the women's lined Crawford pants in size 6. Thx!
