My wife purchased for me a Carhartt Union Suit and gave it to me this past Christmas eve so that I could wear it the next morning as part of my Santa costume. Our four boys were thrilled to get a visit from St. Nick and didn't seam to mind that he was only wearing long underwear. I just added a white beard and red hat to go with my new red long johns ....perfect. I have worn union suits since I was a teenage boy and this one is the best ever. It is superior to all the other union suits I have worn over the years. It fits me well, is well made, and the most comfortable long underwear that I have ever worn. It has enough buttons that there is no gaping in front. The rear flap has two buttons which I appreciate. Our oldest boy (age 13) now wants one too so he can be Santa next year.
This suit is very warm and comfortable. The fit is great too. It is nice and snug against your body. It is great for wearing in the cold weather or for just sleeping in. I am very happy with my purchase.
Comfortable and tough, but unfortunately defective. The buttons are much to small, so they come back through the eyes after a few minutes. Not a good purchase. Not a good product. Also overpriced for clothing made in El Salvador
My brother and I both have a pair of these long underwear. Very warm and comfortable. I have worn and washed mine many many times and they have held up well. Elastic is still good as new. Even the classic red color has not faded much. I find them to be flexible and not restrictive when working. Plus the best feature -they have the rear "hatch" in classic cowboy long underwear fashion! My wife always chuckles when I put these on. Priceless Carhartt product...
Been wearin these since i was a kid. Been lounging and workin in these a long time and plan on havin these in my winter line up as long as i m workin and playin in the michigan winters. The one piece underwear make them very warm and give good mobility. Another product built to last by a company that gets it
comfortable, true to size, flexible,do not compromise movement, really warm thermals, very little shrinking, no fading to the color, nice thick stitching keeps out the cold, locks in the heat and makes for long lasting durability. very little stretching out after long periods of wearing them without washing or drying, elastic ankles, cuffs and neck keep their elasticity pretty good, does not retain any smells or odors. buttons stay closed, even the butt flap. i do have two things that bug me though. one i don't know how your supposed to sit and go to the bathroom in these things, maybe my butt is a bit big or im just not skilled in that. i find it impossible to do though. two,the neck is cut a bit too low in the back for me. other than those two things witch is probably just me any way, there is no complaints. this is a purchase your wont regret and will last. -i live in las vegas but i ride a motorcycle year round and these do the job for the cooler days.
This item would be an excellent item if not for the annoyance of the button holes being too loose to hold the buttons tightly...Either the buttons are too small or the holes are too big...The suit itself is warm and comfortable, it does fit a little tightly, particularly around the chest...I normally wear a medium and the length is true to size for a medium, but it fits snug...I can certainly live with this as it's probably best to have undergarments be snug in order to fit under other clothes...However, I think the snug fit lends to pull the buttons through the holes...The item would have received 5 stars from me, if not for the button issue...
Great product...very warm...we gave this to a friend who moved from the South to Chicago and he's SO glad he has them to wear in the freezing temps! Carhartt products are rugged enough to hold up without sacrificing comfort; that's why we chose these for our friend to brave the winter.
Another quality Carhartt product well worth the money. Fits great with minimum shrinkage after wash, the elastic fits over socks very well and keeps me quite comfortable working in a zero degree freezer for hours at a time. Carhartt customer for life!
My husband loves Carhartt products. They are the only brand of work clothing he wears. They fit great and last a really long time. He works in the construction industry in the Northeast and right now it's mighty chilly.
This product has proven to do just what it is suppose to during cold weather. It has proven to be durable and held up well after being worn on several long days. It definitely helps keep in body warmth and is easy to get around in while working.
Enjoy lounging around the house in my suit like the Cowboys in the westerns! Only trouble is I have a roommate and the rear hatch needs more buttons to close it and the front buttons pop open in just the wrong spot if you catch my drift. So I have to wear shorts or undies with it which defeats the purpose. The suit otherwise is very well made and sturdy cotton. It does fit large top to bottom but I'm pretty sure that's so you can work in it without it pulling on you.
I am 5'8, 150-155lbs. I have always worn a size small in Carhartt. For reference, I prefer the Carhartt relaxed fit because I find the original fit a bit too baggy for my taste. I tried the size small in this Union Suit, and it was way too small. My legs felt like sausage casings, and the chest area was clearly stretching at the button holes. I returned it for a size Medium, which turned out to fit closer to my normal size small in relaxed fit, hence I would recommend sizing up 1 size. Like others mentioned, the button holes are a little loose, and the butt could have benefited from 3 buttons instead of the 2 currently there--sometimes I feel bit exposed as the flap will partially open in between the 2 buttons. Also, the design of the butt is a bit baggy (think diaper butt), which I'm sure facilitates one's ability to utilize the back door flap, but it just seems really strange and looks pretty bad due to the poor fit. Construction of the garment is good, and the materials are typical Carhartt, so should last quite a while. I knocked a few points off for quality only because I think the design was lacking with the above mentioned button issue and baggy butt.
