Great jacket
This jacket has great range of motion, you do not feel constricted when wearing it. I wore this while bird hunting in Montana over Thanksgiving and had a great range of motion, yet very durable. I bought it in the wine color and love the flexibility it allows for, but keeps you very warm as well. I am ALWAYS cold and was hot after wearing this jacket for a bit. This is what I have been looking for in a carhartt and am extremely pleased with my purchase.

I haven't had the opportunity to use it in winter time conditions yet but I am very pleased with this Jacket. Durable. Warm. Flexible. Good Navy Color.

sized for petites
Have tried the jacket on windy days and am very happy with the way it blocks the wind. Need to wear another layer on the colder days (I'm a desert rat now living in northern AZ). I normally wear a med petite and the sleeves are perfect for me. I would imagine a little to short for the normal size.

Love the look, as it is not so manly as most hard working jackets.

Short Sleeves
I should've listened to the reviewer who remarked this jacket is sized for petites, she's right. I'm 5'8, 135#, 34B with long arms and torso. I'm usually a size Small in Carhartt (a Medium in most everything else) so I ordered a small in blue. The body of the jacket fits perfectly with plenty of room in the shoulders - but the sleeves are much too short. (this is a common problem I have with clothing, so I'm not necessarily surprised ... however, Carhartt is normally one of my go to's)
If you are busty or muscular or tall, you will want to go up a size, possibly 2 sizes if you expect to layer.

Also, the elastic cuffs are very tight, causing bunchiness if you're wearing anything long-sleeved underneath, making the the wrist area sort of uncomfortable. Otherwise, this is a very nice coat, seems well made as you'd expect from Carhartt. The pocket placement is correct, zipper isn't sticky, hood is adequate. I really liked the blue color. Fabric is soft, not crunchy or noisy.

Where I live, it's currently 12 degrees outside with a windchill of -9. With my personal cold threshold, this jacket would not be warm enough for me in these conditions. I would probably wear it when it's in the 20's or 30's. If you live in a southern U.S. clime, this might be a good all-around winter jacket for you. Recommending this for petites but I must return it.

What a great jacket
This jacket fits nicely and moves with you. There is not a lot of bulk to the jacket but it keeps me warm even at work when I have to stand outside in the cold for 2 hours. it also keeps me dry when the snow is falling. Haven't found anything I don't like about it yet.
