Great start let's keep making it better
Just got it and great for turning a wrench under a truck. The lower back is made out of a thin type of fleece so it doesn't hold mud as much as say the upper back that is a deeper padded fleece that helps when your laying down on rocks. The sleeves don't grab you when working on something so there's less fatigue. The only downside I see is the inner hood could have a buffer plastic/rubber lining to keep more wind and water out and be made of something better so it would be easier to wipe out the mud

Best Coat Ever!!
Amazing! I farm, hunt, and fish. This coat is amazing, it moves with you, with your shoulders, never bunches up or restricts your movement. Definitely a go to for me!

Big warm jacket the feels like your not even wearing it
This jacket is amazing it is rugged and thick enough to block the wind and not worrie about it getting messed up working but it is also designed so that while you're working you can't even tell you're wearing it

Best overall jacket!!
This jacket is awesome! I have owned your pro typical carhartt jacket with hood in the passed and I wore a size medium. Carhartt runs naturally larger, so a medium was fine back then. I was a little unsure what size to get this jacket in and decided to go with large. Glad I did. The Armstrong jacket fits true to size and the flexible elbows and back allows for free movement without the riding up effect that I got with previous carhartt jackets. This jacket is awesome. I wear it everyday. It's warm, keeps cold air out. It's a great work jacket as well as a casual jacket. Nailed it with this one carhartt

Nice, improved winter jacket.
I have purchased several of standard J-140 carhartt winter jackets in the past so I thought I would try this one out for a change. I like it alot, its way more flexible, feels broken in already, has an extra pocket. I think carhartt really tried to put some thought into this and it turned out well, I won't go back to the old style even though this is a little more expensive. I am an electrician and count on having a quality jacket for working outdoors. It was pretty much impossible to find in several stores and I ended up having to order it directly from carhartt.

Great Jacket, very happy
I am an electrician so I use my jacket very hard. I have bought several of the traditional black carhartt winter jackets in the past.... this one is better. More flexible, doesn't ride up as much, extra pocket, not as stiff out of the box, the recessed cuffs are nice. The only complaint I have is I couldn't find it in any stores, I couldn't even find the original style in L or XL, you cant sell a product that isn't on the shelf in 5 different stores. I ended up ordering it direct from carhartt, had it in about 3 days.

Great gift!
Gift for our son at Christmas. He was impressed and fascinated with all the extras. The wrist cuff sleeve, inside chest pocket and angle slanted lower sleeves.

Excellent Coat!
I bought this for my husband (6' 2", approx 230lbs). I ordered the xl/tall and it fits him perfectly. He can move well without any restrictions and it keeps him super warm. Excellent coat for working outside all winter.

What is the difference between the 101691 and the 102360 jackets?

I am referring to the active jacs that have hoods.
A shopper on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The differences are minor. We have updated the center front construction, added a bottom hem bungee, and moved the Full Swing logo from the arm to the interior on the newer Armstrong jacket.
Which is more warmer for winter insulation (Michigan) weather.. Fleech or Sherpa Iining?
A shopper on Sep 14, 2016

Are these normal quality or do they have defects? I seen somewhere that it says 2nds. Exactly what does that mean?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2016

Does it run big or small?
A shopper on Sep 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This garment should be true to size. It does taper down a bit smaller in the bottom of the garment (the bottom opening is slightly smaller than the top of the garment). Please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1 800 833 3118 for sizing assistance.
My question was what has changed between the recently discounted Full swing sandstone active jac style #101691 and the new full swing Armstrong active jac? Both jackets list a Sherpa/fleece lining and the pictures show an identical lining.

Apart from removing the Full swing logo from the upper right sleeve area and the name change, what else has changed between these two jackets?

I apologize for the confusion I should have included the full swing portion of the name, I thought it would be implied that was what i was talking about.
A shopper on Aug 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 101691 features a hood, has a rib-knit band at the bottom, and is about 1.5 inches shorter in length than the newer 102359 (the new Armstrong). The 102359 has no hood and features a corduroy collar. It is about 1.5" inches longer than the older style, and has a straight bottom without the rib-knit band.
What has changed on this jacket now that it is called Armstrong active Jac vs the Sandstone active Jac previously offered?
Cory. on Aug 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is different than our Sandstone Active Jacket (J130). This jacket is made of the same outside material (Sandstone Duck), however, this garment will have stretch sherpa lining in upper body and fleece lining in lower body. Our style# J130 Sandstone Active Jacket has a Flannel lining which is considered to be warmer than our Sherpa lining. This one (102360) also has different features such as the Mighty Back® bi-swing between shoulders for instant recovery, Flex Elbow™ for less restriction and an attached fleece-lined hood with adjustable drawcord closure.
Is this jacket new?
A shopper on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is a new style that was recently added to our Full Swing collection.
Can you give a list and description of the pockets? Are any of the pockets designed for a phone i.e. interior headphone access?
