"Most of the features of Carhartt Force Work Boots are built around comfort. Certainly anything that keeps our feet drier or helps them dry when wet is welcome. For that reason, I really like the fact that there is the combination of waterproof construction, breathability, and moisture wicking from the Carhartt Force and Storm Defender technologies." Great Boot
I have worn a pair for a little over a month and they are very lite and comfortable. I am on my feet for 10-12 hours, 5 day a week, my feet are fatigue but don't hurt with the amount of time on my feet. I also have a pair of Keen 8" steel toe, insulated boots. I did a weight comparison the Keen's weigh 3lbs apiece, the Carhartt weigh 1.5lbs apiece. All in all great boot.

Good Boot
I have been wearing the boots for 6 months now and they are very comfortable. I wear them at work where we require an oil/slip resistant sole and they do provide good traction. They will keep your feet warm if that is a quality you are looking for. I reccomend them.

Disappointed
The outer layer of rubber over the top of the toe wore off after kneeling on a wood floor for about 15 minutes. I replaced 2 pieces of plywood and when I stood up, both boots had holes in the rubber of the toe area. that rubber layer is paper thin and not durable at all. Its just for show. Unlike other brands of boots where the protective rubber layer is functional.

poor quality
My last review didn't "qualify" for carhartts review process. I'll make it simple. Carhartt force boots are not work boots. Will not last. 2-3 months maybe...pretty expensive for that. But that's my opinion. Better options out there.

Not a agian
I'm a hvac tech so I do a bunch of kneeling and crawling. When I first got the boots they hurt the heck out of my ankles took about 3 weeks to break after that they where comfortable. Needless to say after 4 months the sides are blown out completely, they are not water proof anymore and look like 3 year old boots very disappointed. Very poor quality will not go back with them.

Full Force Ahead
I have really enjoyed these boots for the last couple of months now. When I first received them and viewed them I was somewhat taken aback by their appearance and color selection. Since then, they have really grown on me both figuratively and literally. The appearance belies their ruggedness and ability to withstand punishment in many different work environments and the color does a good job of shrugging off the marred look they could begin to get over time like some competitors do.

When I first put them on, the stiff neck allowing my foot to slide right in was a great start and it has continued that way to this very day. That feature alone really tops my list as many boots over time get floppy and you have to bend over and pull on them slide them on. The lacing system is pretty good though I would prefer to have all eyelets to the top and the laces I would like to see be some material more substantial to grip onto though they are very durable and show no signs of wear whatsoever after much abuse. The tongue is very comfortable and fits so well one would almost not know it were there and that the shoe was form fitted.

The wear of the shoes and their fit was pretty good and comfortable. One time I even accidentally had a garden tractor roll over my toes in these. Not a problem as there was no deformation in it and it held up as well as a steel toe seemingly would. None of the exterior seams on the shoe have shown any intention to weaken though I am sure they have caught on the edges of many pieces of equipment and materials I have been working around I wore these in wet, dry, dusty, cold, and hot conditions and yet my foot stayed warm and comfortable while accented by my Carhartt Force socks.

My only minor complaint was that around the rear of the heel there is a stitched seam that after you have been wearing these for many hours you can begin to feel. Now that could well be due to the break in period of any boots and that I will admit I did begin to notice it less as time went on but it does deserve looking into. Overall I am very happy with these as compared to Timberland's, Wolverines, and a few others I have worn over the years and I think you will be as well.

Force work boots
I like the look of the boots. The style looks good for everyday wear, I did find the boots a little unconfortable after a few days of wear. They are made of high quality materials and should be very durable. It may be Me and my feet but I did experience discomfort wearing them. Carhartt products are great products so I think it may just be me .

Not so good
I got these in the mail a few months ago and was a pretty disappointed from the get go. They look like you could just grab them and put them on either foot you wanted, and you just might be able to do that if you swapped the insoles. The eyelets don't bite the laces when you are trying to get them tight so the laces always slip and loosen and when you do finally get them tight your feet still feel unstable because there is too much room around the midsole and your toes leaving you with a sloppy fit.

I will say that the padding is an okay feature, although it isn't very aesthetically pleasing. The soles seem to have decent grip and the composite toe doesn't pinch your toes when you bend down which is nice.

Overall, I think boots are a personal thing and I don't think that I would purchase these but what didn't work for me might be perfect for you. If you see them in a store try them on, you might be surprised at how they fit your feet.

How are these boots for roofing? Do they grip to shingles/plywood good? What boot work you recommend most for roofing?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I haven't done roofing with them, I am in construction and had the pair I am wearing now since February. They do actually grip well. They are a very comfortable work boot, and my feet sweat a lot and they dry fast and don't smell. BUT, they claim to be waterproof. The waterproofing wore out very quickly. I never trust a leather boot for waterproofing anyway. I do have a hole in one boot where the boot creases when you step. So I got 5 solid months out of these boots. I haven't found a pair that I can get to last more than one season. But anyway, very comfortable when I first bought them. I have size 14 and its hard to find a comfortable boot that big and that will last
