Man's best friend can have Carhartt, too
Carhartt is known for durable, high quality gear. Our line of products for the hardworking dog is no different. Our beds are made from the same tough-as-nails 12-ounce duck as our jackets - they're durable, comfortable, and easily washable.

Didn't get the critical review of a person wanting it to be "soft" like Flannel. The whole POINT and value of this bed is the tough duck cotton outer. Our dogs chew up anything else, and cheaper beds get matted down and worn out. Have had difficulty getting one as everywhere I've looked (ncluding Carhartt) was sold out for a LONG time. Can't find a better bed.
I complained about the zippers failing on two of the three Carhartt dog beds we owned. Carhartt replaced the beds immediately with new beds with better quality zippers. No questions asked! Well done Carhartt!
The outer shell of the dog bed is great, durable and easy to clean. The inner cushion is terrible. It packed down within a few weeks. The middle of the bed is so now so thin that there's just the two layers of duck fabric with zero cushion. Our dogs stopped lying on them in favor of the area rug.
We have FOUR of these beds and am thinking of another one! Excellent choice for nesters - you know, those doggers who scratch and kneed till it's just right. Instead of looking bad after the beds' been washed, it just gets better looking and softer - like you know, your favorite pair of Carhartt's! The light color for your yellows and the brown for chocolate and/or black labs!
We liked this dog bed so well we purchased two of them now. They are perfect as they are just about bullet proof, (at least so far). They have proved to be very water resistant and durable under a 1 year old Chocolate Lab anyway and we have had them for several months now. The insert padding is lacking a little but for the price we couldn't find any other brand that compares to the Carhartt beds, bar none as we have looked and tried them all. We have simply added some additional memory foam inside to help the padding a little. Its probably not a requirement but we thought it would help and our pup does stay on the bed longer now that we did that too though.
I jokingly typed "Carhartt dog bed" into my search engine after wishing it may exist. Much to my surprise it not only existed but I found it here, well priced and the quality is on par with all other Carhartt products. My lab hasn't damaged it one bit in the past 4 months after DESTROYING high-dollar Kong beds. If you kennel a lab or a velociraptor I highly recommend this product.
When I saw these dog beds , I thought I would give them a try. I have two Siberian husky's and they have destroyed every bed that I have tried, even the one's claimed to be indestructible. This is the best dog bed in the would! REALLY. Both my boys love them. I could go on about how well I am impressed with this product , but would run out of space. There are only two things that I can add. First, I hope that this product is never discontinued and second that there were different sizes available. I own a grooming business and want to add boarding. These would make wonderful beds for the kennels.
I have two Shepard Mixes Puppies (Large Dogs - VERY aggressive chewers) They have destroyed every bed within minutes of getting them home. They have not chewed this one and they love it. Planning on buying another one.
Couldn't pass this up. I bought two for my dogs and they love them. Size is just as stated in description (36"x28"x4"). They have the same heavy duck material & big brass zippers that their Carhartt jackets are made from (Detroit & Chore Coats, ect...). The inner pad is easy to remove as you can unzip nearly the whole 36" side. The padding is quilted in the center and covered by a heavy nylon lining with some sort of firm polyester fill. Overall I am really impressed with this product. My only suggestions would be to have it made in the USA (Tag says made in Mexico of US materials) and to offer it in a few different sizes. (These are marked Large)
I purchased two of these beds for our large dogs. I didn't think twice or bother reading reviews, I just went on my past experiences of excellence from carhartt. I am very disappointed in the quality of the bedding. It flattens almost immediately and provides no support or cushioning for my pups. The covers however are excellent! They have been through many wash cycles and part of a Wyoming winter with no signs of wear.
We have had 3 of these beds. One was chewed by a 7 month old puppy. ..not exactly Carhartt's fault. The two remaining beds both have failed zippers. The most recent failure happened in the wash! The zipper looks robust and very high quality but in both cases the zippers are intact and separated.
We purchased two of these duck dog beds for our Cheaspeake Bay Retrievers. These beds fit nicely in their indoor kennels and the pups love them. The beds provide a soft floor for their kennels, and also provides them with extra warmth during the winter nights.
We have purchased many dog beds in the past, all to have been chewed to pieces. We have been Carhartt clothing fans for years and when we noticed Carhartt sold dog beds we ordered one to try it out. These dog beds are without question the very BEST on the market, so good that we have purchased a second for using out camping. Don't waste your money on other dog beds, just get a Carhartt. You won't be disappointed !!!!
We have a 1-year-old Duck Tolling Retriever who destroys every toy and bed we give her. To make matters worse, once she tears them open, she'll ingest the stuffing... very dangerous. She destroyed each of her previous beds in short order. (The Kong durable bed lasted 2 days.) We bought the Carhartt bed a few months ago and she loves it! She's made no attempt to chew it so far. We also use it in the back of the SUV when we travel with her, and when it got dirty, it was easy to wash and reassemble. Just a well-made, really durable dog bed. Couldn't be happier!
I love how tough this bed is. I have a large Bull Mastiff and he loves to scratch and knead his beds, which results in total destruction. He hasn't put a dent in this thing. Hopefully, this will be the last bed buy for a while.
It looks great, and it seems to resist odors also.
Can't say enough positive comments. It's a great bed.
After my 2 naughty kitties quickly destroyed every catbed I bought for them, I decided to try this one. In over a month of use, they haven't even TRIED to chew it! It's actually a good bit larger than we need -- way more than enough room to accommodate 2 cats, or 2 small-to-medium-sized dogs. Also, the stuffing is pretty lumpy and overly firm -- it would be nicer if it were a little more uniform and a bit softer. But then, this is made for a large, heavy dog, for which it's probably fine. I wish Carhartt would make this bed in small, medium and large, with modifications in the stuffing for the smaller pets.
I love how the stuffing has separate pockets so it cannt bunch up and how sturdy it is and the color is perfect. The only thing is it not the softest bed ever. My boxer and chihuahua sleep on it together and seem to have no complaints.
Our lab had a habit of eating any bed that had a foam interior. The Carhartt Duck Dog Bed has a durable filing that he doesn't want to destroy. Plus, the durable canvas outer cover is easy to slip off and wash. No more fitting a 10 lb bed back in a 5 lb sock!
This bed is fantastic on the outside. It's tough and durable. As a kennel owner, I can tell you they hold up better than any other bed I've seen or used. However, the filler either needs to be about 4 inches thicker or one should have the option to purchase a second pillow.
We appreciate your feedback and have sent your comments to our Product Design team for future consideration.

Doesn't last forever but last longer than most
I won't lie. I have bought about 15 of these beds over the past three years. Will I continue to buy them? Yes. By average one of these beds would last about 2 months. My dogs drag these beds all over the yard to lay on them in various spots. If the bed gets a rip then it is fun times. Both dogs went without a bed for several months so I hope they are learning to not tear them apart. Normally they will pull the shell off and play tug-a-war. The inside usually last a bit longer.
I bought four of these beds in December. Two mediums for the dog houses and two large for outside. Two beds remain, one medium and one large. I usually buy the Carhartt Brown beds but this purchase the two large were the dark brown. I will not buy the dark brown again. The Carhartt Brown is totally waterproof (at least it has been in the past). The dark brown is not. First rain the dark brown soaked up the water like a sponge. The Carhartt Brown, the water usually puddles up on the outside. I can still toss the bed on the bed porch and it dries quickly. The dark brown never dried and froze solid when the winter storm hit last month.
I plan to buy two more beds next week. Another medium and large. Why? you may ask. Because the high dollar Kong beds I bought several years ago bed lasted about five minutes. Yes, that would be two Kong beds in five minutes, or however long it took me to get their treat. At least my babies get some use out of these beds. Plus I am hopeful they will learn comfort is better than a chew toy.
One other thing. The lining in these beds are a lot easier to clean up once it ends up all over the yard.
From the day i received the bed my dog would not lay in it. I eventually determined that she did not like the texture of the duck cotton. I laid a fleece blanket over top of it and ever since she goes right too it. Also the zipper came off track with very little use. The pillow is sewn into sections to keep the stuffing from all ending up in one corner. While this great for keeping it evenly distributed the center pocket is under stuffed and does not provide adequate padding. If i could change somethings about the product I would make the stuffing material memory foam and make one side of the bed a flannel or knit material.
It took her a couple days to switch fro her old bed to her new, but now she likes it quite well! I only wish it came in more than one color. It's a little limiting. Quality is Carhartt all the way, though!
When I saw this bed online I thought, "This is it, this is the bed that will defeat my dog. He won't be able to tear this one up." Well, as my Husky has done before, he proved me wrong. He had it two days, at maximum, before it was one holey bed, cushioning everywhere. To say the least, I was disappointed. I'm not sure if I will buy another one if it is going to be as easy to tear into as any other dog bed.
First I love these dog beds! I have 2 big dogs and these have held up very well. This is my second set- I bought the 1st set 4 years ago and they are faded but still are in great shape. As the dogs have aged I wanted to have an extra set in our garage for them. I have washed mine and then dried it along with several clean tennis balls to help it keep its shape.
I would not wash it. It looks like shredded open cell foam sewn into a bag roughly the same shape as the cover. It would be a struggle to adequately dry, and the foam would get super heavy in washing machine. That said, it's probably possible.
