Overall a good purchase, although a little pricey . The fit is good except for the length, which was about two inches too long. Tried to shrink them by washing in hot water but it did not work. Cannot hem them, they will not look right. I ordered average and next time I will know to order petite, even though I stand 5feet 8inches tall.
The quality in material changed. I had bought carhart jean bibs in the past and decided to order more since the ones i had were getting old. Unfortunately they weren't the same . The new ones were made with thin material and this made me so sad because i really liked the ones i had. I wish you would go back to making them like before because it is so hard for me to find bibs.
Bought these for my work outdoors; however be warned! The true-fit quiz told me to buy a size small, and I was swimming in them, had to exchange for an extra-small, which are still roomy. However, that's fine for working, you can fit a nice thick flannel underneath with full thermal underwear and still have room. I'm 5'2" 120lbs for reference.
I ordered these a few months ago and had to send them right back. I was very disappointed in the quality. I look to this brand to be good, but the pockets barely have enough denim fabric to cover so any time you move or sit down the white lining shows. Otherwise they fit good and were comfortable. Looking for a great bib, but unfortunately these were not it. Still looking. I guess you can't trust the names you thought you could depend on for quality.
Carhartt is the only brand of overalls for tall women I have found that ARE NOT 100% cotton, which is exactly what I was looking for since what I got them for requires bending over frequently hence needing stretch and give to move. Not uncomfortably stiff as a board. The inseam on these measures 33", not actually 34." I am 5'10", 135 lbs and need a true 34" inseam or longer because pants are supposed to go a little under your feet, not above them. Also, even when I adjusted the shoulder straps the longest and loosest they go, they were still a little too tight in the shoulders when bending over and squatting to test them out. They only fit fine around width wise. I ordered a small tall, but am hesitant about exchanging them for a medium tall since Carhartt's sizing is so inconsistent! Their tops and jackets are made too big around in width and not long enough in length, so I can only wear the vests as far as jackets go since I don't have to worry about any sleeves being too short. The original fit Crawford Dungaree 97% cotton 3% spandex are great being long in length, but I ordered a 6 tall and they were pretty big around and in the fit overall. Don't know what size to order in anything now!
I am very happy with these. Put them on as soon as they came. :) they feel like old favorites right away. The one thing that I was put off by is the strap buckles. They feel cheap and sharp. And are a little irritating because of those qualities. I expected the traditional buckles and would prefer them. Everything else is so great why skimp on the buckles? That being said the pros out weigh the con. I could see myself ordering another pair .
I love my overalls! I can garden, go grocery shopping and even work ( I am a radio show host) in them. I have started a new fad up here in New Hampshire. Women, over 50, are wearing overalls. Every time I wear them, I am asked where I got them and then they r eminence about wearing overalls when they were younger. We can "let it all hang out" if you will. No need for a bra when we have Carhartt overalls on.
Fabric is poor quality - thin and light weight. Also poor quality hardware. If you are looking for something close to the sturdy men's coveralls, you will be disappointed. Sending these right back. Cannot not recommend them at all.
This is a extremely attractive pair of overalls. The quality - durable, well made. I can't say enough about how comfortable they are. This is definitely an item I want to order more of in the future. Carhart please continue making them.
My clothes go through such abuse. I have had 2 pairs of jeans I have worn for 5 years they are still in good shape no hoels little faded as they are washed constantly. I'm particular an those 2 pair of jeans were the only ones I wore everyday. I'm a truck driver an jeans is what I wear an they get abused but I wouldn't have any other brand. I get my moneys worth.
I love the bib overalls in black but I'm having a difficult time to find a pair with the zippered pockets across the bib . They are comfortable and durible in the extreme temperatures I've worked in the past .. It would be nice to see bib overalls made from the rip stop material especially for the summer months .
I reordered these in size L since the XL were too big. Size L fits better, but there is tug in the front pockets...just one more inch in width and they would have been perfect. I suppose I'll be returning all 3 and keep looking for those perfect overalls. :(
The elastic straps are a nice touch because they allow for some give while you are crouching down. However, I had to use pliers to pull them through past where they attach to the canvas in order to get the straps to not fall down. I was successful and now they can be worn. Everything else about them fits me fine and they feel like they are durable and will last a long time. For reference, I am 5-4, 160 lbs, athletic, and these are size 10 black.
These are great, except for the Buckle. The buckle looks cheap and is hard to use. They do run kinda big, the chart told me to order a small, but after reading reviews I ordered an XS and they fit perfect. ( 5'2 114lbs) they are a bit long, but that's ok.
I ordered the dark blue overalls that were offered last fall, but they were/are quite stiff and I had to order a larger size (XL). When these overalls were made available, I ordered the larger size again, but they are way too big. I like the length much better than the dark blue overalls and the fabric is much softer, so I'm ordering 2 more pair in the smaller size (LT).
In the photos of the black overalls, the black denim is faded. The overalls I received didn't have a faded feel or texture - they're very solid black. I also own the blue overalls, which actually look like the photo on the site.
