Everyone always says, "it's the Caddilac of......" But I think this hoodie is so much better. I can remember the day I got it like it was yesterday, even though I've had mine for over 4 years now. It felt so nice putting it on for the first time. You could literally feel the quality. It was exactly what I was searching for. Nice and heavy and sooooo soft! The Sherpa lining is great and over the years of laundry and constant wear, it's still looks and feels great on the inside. I think my only very minor complaint would be is that just like absolutely everything else that I own that happens to be black, it's faded. That's what you get when you live in a state that gets like 350 days of sun per year! You should see my shorts! The left leg of every pair of black shorts I own is now brown from driving with the window down and unfortunately my hoodie has suffered the same fate except that it's all over since I wear it so much. Still, I would buy one again and again and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. BUY ONE! YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO TAKE IT OFF!
This is a great havy thick sweatshirt. The body has a full soft sherpa like polyester. The sleeves are way too thin though. The material lining the sleeves is very poor, and the zipper constantly snags on the sherpa like fleece. As much as I wanted to keep this sweatshirt, I have to send it back
I purchased this for my work and my wife staked claim to it when I brought it home. So I then purchased her one in red. Thought that would end the thievery but was wrong. My daughter swiped my wife's and my son is wearing mine. So, I ended up purchasing 2 more for my wife and I. So now everyone has one and we all love how warm and comfortable they are. I never saw any of my family wearing this, but now its the go to jacket when we're going into the cold.
This is a great sweatshirt. It's thick enough that I can wear it as a jacket for extended periods down to about 40*F (colder if I stay active), and I'm the type of person that gets chilly if it drops below 70. It's ever so slightly fitted so it looks higher end than the typical baggy sweatshirt or hoodie and feels more comfortable to work in as well.
I purchased one of these several years ago and it lasted me a good three years before it was irreparably damaged in an accident and after looking at all the new sweatshirts Carhartt and their competitors had to offer this year, I came back to this one. It's just hands down comfortable and looks great.
My only complaint is that on the third day of wearing this, the hood got pinched between a metal pole and concrete and an eighth inch hole in the shell was torn. This is probably more a result of my unrealistically high expectations from a soft shell sweatshirt, but it was disappointing nonetheless. Though without a doubt, I'm still glad I chose this sweatshirt over any other.
If your looking for something to keep you warm at different fall and winter tempatures, this is what you want. The Sherpa lining is cozy and i love that the sleeves are lined with the artic lining. Very warm! I love it! I wear my other heavy duty carhartt jacket in subzero temps. But this is a great buy for the money!
This sweatshirt is warmer and thicker than the typical sweatshirt. The Sherpa lining is very soft and cozy and in my opinion not overly heavy. The hood is lined with the same Sherpa lining which makes it quite warm and wind resistant. One pleasant surprise was the design of the collar. The zipper comes up higher than I expected which prevents the cold air from going down the neck. With the hood raised and the zipper up, the head and neck area is very warm and draft free.
I love this hoodie, it fits better than before, it's water proof and it's warm. BUT the nylon lining in the sleeves feels cheap, moves around a lot, does NOTHING to keep your arms warm and feels like it my rip. I still love it but I don't know if I'd wear it to do work on a very cold day.
have owned several hooded sweatshirts over the years and this is the best one by far... the lining makes it more like a hooded zip jacket than a sweatshirt... so if you're looking for a workout hoodie for jogging i would not recommend this one... but it is perfect for walking the dog on a cold winter's morning.
I live in Michigan and this sweatshirt keeps me warm in temps of 20-10 F, i do not work outside but it is a comfortable sweatshirt and warm for my drives in to Hospital . Its easy to wash after a week of work which is a huge plus because i worry about the germs that may come home with me from work.. This sweatshirt is actually the warmest i have ever owned. It also keeps me warm when i walk my dog for about 30 minutes in the winter. Its a pretty good fit if you use their web program, i just wish my sleeves were 1 IN longer but it fits fine.I am going to purchase one for my wife as a present.
The sweatshirt is good, just not great like the last one I purchased. I love the Sherpa-lined sweatshirt (made in Pakistan) that I bought a couple of years ago, so I went on-line this winter to buy another one. It is now different (made in Mexico), and the quality is worse. Zipper sewn in too far, so it is hard to zip. Zipper metal is all thinner. Sewing goes over edges on pockets. An inner pocket was added that is too thick, so you feel it when you wear the sweatshirt. It is also cut smaller in the shoulders. I can compare seams and see that each shoulder is at least a half inch smaller. If I didn't get it from Carhartt directly I would think it was a knock-off.
I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this jacket. The moment I tried it on for the first time it became my favorite hoodie! The sherpa lining is great and I like that the zipper goes up very high to keep the wind out if you zip it up all the way. There's also an inside pocket which you wouldn't normally expect from a hoodie. Carhartt usually runs large but this jacket runs true to size. I'm 5'11" 190 and the Reg. Medium fits me like a glove! I chose the dark blue so after it's faded from many washes it still looks great unlike black. It would be impossible to find a better hoodie at this price or any!
This is the best fitting and warmest sweatshirt I own. I am a public school bus driver, and busses are cold in the mornings. I wear this and never worry about the cold. It washes very well, a bit of shrinkage, but I planned for that when I selected my size. This is the best sweatshirt ever, trust me.
BUY THIS JACKET! SERIOUSLY, YOU WON'T TAKE IT OFF.
You won't wear any other hoodie/jacket again. I have owned 3 of the similar Carhartt zip-front thermal lined sweatshirts over the last 5 or so years, and they had been my goto jacket for those 30-60 degree days, above any other. Then, I was given this jacket for my birthday last year, and I rarely take it off. The other 3 (still great) have sat on hangers since then.
+ I work construction and being outside all day, all year requires a tough, versatile, warm jacket that you can actually move in. This baby is all that. I can wear it with a cold weather thermal shirt and be warm down to around 20 degrees. Or a T-shirt up to the mid 60's.
- It's really warm. So, with a dark color like the navy blue one I have, the sun can get hot, quick.
And, that's barely a complaint, because after all, It's sherpa lined. Buy this sweatshirt, you won't regret it one bit.
This jacket is almost perfect. It's soft, warm, and the arms are flexible. My first carhartt sweatshirt was a thermal lined one that lasted over 17 years. My only complaint on this jacket is that the heavy duty zipper is very rough on the face and cold if you are zipping all the way up to keep the cold out. It seems it would be a simple fix to add a flap of fabric behind the zipper as many other jackets already do. But I still love it. I am a 5'6, 150lb female and the small fit perfectly.
I left my first one in Alaska. When I came back it was gone. I was bummed out because it became my favorite. Not to mention it kept me warm in an Alaskan winter, without having to layer up. So, I bought another one. I will buy another for just in case purposes. It's so warm and comfortable, I know it will get stolen again.
I have two of these sweatshirts (style: 100070), 1 - XL and 1 - XXL, the XXL is smaller than the XL. It is not only this sweatshirt, I also have 4 pairs of B278 shorts, 38", 2 fit like a 37" and the other 2 fit like 38". I like these items, I just wish Carhartt would be consistent with their sizing.
The quality of Carhartt is beyond compare. You can trash their goods and Carhartt's keep coming back for more! I have long arms and the regular version of this hoodie is short in the sleeves. The tall versio, which I bought first, fits like a tent. It is huge!! I like the Sherpa fleece but would appreciate another inch in the sleeve.
