REMEMBERING PA

Matt and Ben Hobbs owe it all to their “Pa”, the man who taught the brothers at a young age about repurposing old wood from barns. It was their grandfather, AKA Cecil T. Hall, who showed the boys the meaning of work ethic and how to use the hand tools that would eventually become their own – including the very same handsaw the brothers used to make the first table they ever sold. Today, Pa’s legacy lives on through every piece of furniture the Hobbs brothers build. Matt and Ben will never forget the grandfather of Sons of Sawdust™.

LEAVING A LEGACY

A DEFINING MOMENT

Meet Matt and Ben Hobbs. The brothers who, following a series of bad luck and hard times, rose from out of the darkness to start Sons of Sawdust™ - a woodworking business located in Athens, Georgia that specializes in reclaimed wood. Building on a passion the Hobbs boys say was passed down to them by their late "Pa”, the brothers hunt the local area for old 100+ year-old barns and houses. Properly learning the rich history behind every piece of wood they choose, only to write a new version of the story with every piece of beautiful reclaimed wood furniture they build.
